Last night's WWE Raw Supershow did a 3.1 cable rating off hours of 3.05 and 3.11 with an average viewing audience of 4,336,000 viewers on the USA Network.
Casual audiences just aren't into wrestling these days. The Rock and Brock Lesnar returns have barely made any sort of dent in the Television ratings. Granted Wrestlemania did a good buyrate but weekly TV ratings have remained pretty much the same…
Could have been worse
I would imagine that most people either read live spoilers, sleep before it starts or watch it online now anyway.
At least it’s steady.
I hope there is another wrestling boom.I hope its as popular as the attitude era or maybe even better.PEOPLE POWER may have the potential of doing that………..hopefully.
Sorry.. But there is no chance of that happening.. One thing the 80’s and the NWO/attitude era had was characters. That is what’s lacking in today’s Buisness.. Forget blaming PG WWE – TNA isn’t PG and no one watches that either. What’s missing is are characters that transcend the wrestling world into other media formats and bring an audience in.. And characters that make us want to watch every week. Sadly we don’t have that.. And WWE no it.. Which is why they brought back Rock.. And Lesner.. And eventually Stone Cold.. And so on…
