Reason For CM Punk's Promo On This Week's WWE Raw

Shares 0

CM Punk's promo on this week's episode of WWE Raw was done to write him off television as he won't be traveling with the company on their upcoming overseas tour.

Punk has been working banged up for months and came out of his match against Undertaker at Wrestlemania 29 in rough shape. Punk is reportedly less than 50% healthy and while it's not believed he needs surgery, he needs time away from the ring to heal up.

Punk is next advertised for the April 29th episode of WWE Raw from the Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio.  For those that missed the segment, you can watch it at this link or embedded in the video below:

How long is he projected to be out?

Good riddance. He’s overrated and I’m tired of his bitching about everything.

Its a character, guy. He’s playing a character…you do know they are acting in the ring and on the mic, right? Hardly overrated, either, considering he’s great at both the mic and ring work.

I think he’s fully aware he’s a character. He’s giving his opinion of the character, which wrestling fans have been doing from the very beginning. I think you’re the one who’s confused, because nothing I read made me think otherwise.

I’m perfectly aware that he plays a character and that the character extends past 8-11e every monday night. However, it’s no secret that he’s socially awkward and has a bad attitude; this has been demonstrated since the beginning of his WWE career.

Further, I stand by him being overrated. People like to pretend he’s Eddie Guerrero, Chris Benoit, Dean Malenko and Perry Saturn rolled in to one when he’s not. Austin Aries is better.

            U mad bro?

He’s not bad, he’s just speaking the truth

I agree with pretty much everything you’ve said. My beef with Punk has nothing to do with anything he does inside the ring, he’s a great worker, great on the mic I get that. But like you’ve said I think the majority of the IWC puts this guy on a pedestal, it’s almost as if they believe he really is god.

He’s antics outside the ring is where my problem with Punk lies. He walks around with this chip on shoulder acting like the world really owes him something, he’s entitled attitude really rubs me the wrong way and the way he treats fans and how he bashes them over social media outlits. Then there is him showing up to the Wrestlemania press conference in a freaking shirt when even guys like Cena, Rock & HHH are in a suit & tie. Then with a straight face people wonder why he’ll never surpass Cena as that #1 guy.

I’ve always gone on record as saying that Punk reminds me of the kid in school who thinks it’s cool to bash religion, be an outsider etc etc but in reality he does those things because he’s really an insecure kid on the inside desperately seeking approval.

As a socially awkward guy with a bad attitude myself i think you are a pretentious A** HOLE and as far as Aries goes he was good in ring of honour but in TNA he is overrated like most of their roster.

AGREE!!!!!!!!! I remember when Punk said he wanted too make the title interesting again, all he did was make it more boring. More Ziggler & less Punk please

Is he still coming to Australia?

Who would’ve known Taker would be in a match on TV three weeks after WrestleMania and Punk would be too banged up to work?
