Report: Todd Keneley Leaves TNA Wrestling

TNA Wrestling has reportedly parted ways with Todd Keneley due to the company’s desire to return to the two man announce team of Mike Tenay and Taz. As of now, his final appearance was at Slammiversary.

Keneley parted on good terms but was not under contract and was working per shots.  He was informed of the decision at last Sunday’s pay-per-view.

Mikey Johnson broke the story at PWInsider.

Wow… TNA is really dropping the ball there, as Kenely was a great balance between Taz and Tenay. Announce is going to get very annoying again.

I never liked Kenely, and don’t feel he added much at announce in terms of useful analysis. That said, I do see your point. Without him as a buffer, Taz and Tenay will be always going after each other as Cole and Lawler did circa 2010.

Geez, here I was thinking that this Todd Kenely was being groomed to take Mike Tenay’s spot as play by play man. Tenay is okay but he’s really getting old now and time for a younger guy to take over.

He is returning to championship wrestling from Hollywood.
