Rey Mysterio Seen Limping After Returning On Monday Night Raw

Rey Mysterio was seen limping after his return on this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw. Mysterio has been out for an extended period of time due to problems with his left knee. He’s battled multiple ACL tears in the knee and has been trying stem cell treatment has opposed to undergoing yet another surgery. I haven’t heard if he’s indeed injured again but this doesn’t seem like a good sign.

Mysterio was filmed for a segment on Backstage Fallout Raw with Renee Young after returning where he said there was no way to explain the feeling and excitement going through him after returning. He said as a kid that Survivor Series was one of his favorite pay-per-views and put over his inclusion in the 5-on-5 Traditional Survivor Series Elimination Match.

As things currently stand, Mysterio will team with Cody Rhodes, Goldust and The Usos to face The Shield and The Real Americans on Sunday’s pay-per-view.

    Thought Rey was really religious.
Don’t religious people hate stem cells being used for medical treatments.

    • Wilo

There are different religious believes; not all believe in the same things

      • BIG M

I’m aware of that but its been my experience that most devout people are the most unwilling to accept new ideas.
Given the rosery tattoo Rey has its resnable to assume he’s catholic.
And last I checked the Vatican have a hard time accsepting anything new.
I Don’t mean to sound anti catholic but I find it hard to believe a devout catholic like Rey would be willing to try that kind of treatment.

No no this is all wrong. The stem cells being used in Mysterio’s treatment are from his own bone marrow. They’re attempting to use those cells to regrow knee cartilage. It doesn’t involve stem cells from another party.

          • BIG M

            Thanks for clearing that up.
I don’t care of course where the cells came from just thought it was curiously a little out of character for Rey that’s all.

          • Kleck

As a Catholic, I can say that stem cell derived from a living fetus that will be terminated after harvest of the stem cells is the issue. As Richard pointed out though, there are other sources to retrieve stem cells. In many cases, they can be harvested from the afficted person.

          • BIG M

I’ve read articles about researchers using the normally discarded umbilical cords of newborns to harvest millions of stem cells that could be used to cure dieses.
So there are ok ways to use stem cells but for some reason people think if its made legal millons of unborn baby’s will die when really that’s not the case.
That is a prime example religious ignorance no offence but why do people like you make such a song and dance about this subject.

          • Kleck

It was at one time a big deal because harvesting stem cells from embreyos was the only means of retrieving them. Today, other alternatives have been developed that does not include the termination of a life. I do not see where the ignorance lies here. I for one am happy alternative methods of harvesting stem cells have been developed.

          • BIG M

The Ignorance lies in the fact that a lot of people still think its a big deal and don’t even want to hear about the alternatives that have been developed.
Im now curious were Rey had the procedure done because from what I’ve read about these kinds of subjects there are a lot of parts of the world (mainly middle america) were that kind of treatment is still illegal.

I’m religious and I don’t have an issue with it. I don’t know why so many people have a problem believing God & Science. After all God gave man science.

      • BIG M

No offence mate but 90% of the worlds problems past and present would be gone if we did away with organised religion.
But with that being said I don’t have a problem with religion so much as I have a problem with some religious people and the people in power who feel the need to cater to there “sometimes” insane beliefs in there decision making.

        • Xavier

You’ll get no argument from me there. Religion itself is a great thing, the problem lies with false teachers who use religion as a tool to push their own agenda. Far too often in history that has been the case. Personally, I respect everyone’s beliefs. I just ask that they respect mine.

          • BIG M

It can be a great thing but it can also have a serious negative affect on a societies culture and governance.
From the dark ages and inquisitions in europe to the entire middle east past and present religion can make people do absolutely sickening things to others and even themselves.
Not trying to offend anybody here but I really wish people would take some aspects and scripture of religion with a grain of salt I mean according to the old testament I’m supposed to believe slavery is the natural progression of man and I can sell my daughter on a sunday.
But again with that being said everybody needs something other than themselves to believe in for me its my family for others its the sky bully to each his own.

          • Xavier

Slavery in the bible was never depicted as a good thing. But as far as some of the practices in the old testament; YES, some of those things are suppose to taken with a grain of salt now. And that’s were the arrival of Jesus comes into play. I’ll leave it at that though. I don’t want WNW to erupt into a Holy War lol. But I agree with just about everything you said regarding the negative effects Religion has played in society.

Looked to me like he was limping as he came out of the curtain and down the ramp.

    • http://www.wrestlingnewsworld.com/ Richard Gray

I need to go back and watch the tape. I haven’t spoken to one of my friends that was there but this doesn’t sound good.

  • Cubed56

This is exactly why mysterio’s return didn’t excite me, I said during this weeks raw discussion I was wondering how long he would be able to stay without another injury, and it appears not very long. I like Rey and think he’s great in the ring, but the poor guy cannot stay healthy at all.

  • AJ Punk

Well this injury was quicker than even we expected!
