Arda Ocal (@Arda_Ocal) of The Score Television Network had a chance to chat with “Rowdy” Roddy Piper on the set of Piper’s Pit. Highlights of Part 2:

Piper brings in his son, Colt Toombs, to talk about his amateur MMA career and why he originally chose MMA over professional wrestling.

“Pro wrestling was my first love and it was what I watched growing up with him, but as soon as I could walk, he’s (Piper) has had me in martial arts. After high school, I had the opportunity to train some MMA and I had a couple of amateur fights. I really loved it and I just kept going with it. Due to the martial arts that he put me in, I was kind of good at it and it kind of just fell into place.

Toombs discusses a possible move over to professional wrestling.

“I’ve watched it growing up. I absolutely love it and I would definitely give it a try. I just haven’t quite gotten there yet.”

Piper talks about how he would react if his son wanted to try out professional wrestling

“Do I train him or do I let him go and get trained on his own? I don’t know the answer to that. I’m not going to lead him astray and say ‘you’re doing great’ when really you should go get a job. You can be a good MMA guy and a lousy wrestler. There is something that’s got to come out of you special. That scares me (training Toombs).”

Piper talks about his desire for one more match and what that match would be

“I want one more fight for my career. I thought I would just fight the champion. I could get in shape one more time for one more good one. But doing a tag team, his (Toombs) first fight and my last, I’d consider that.”

Talks about his son standing his ground when approached by Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff in WCW.

    Hot Rod is the man!

  • Ricky Valdez

Piper with all due respect please don’t come back for one more match, I would rather prefer remembering you matches with Bret hart or all your great pipers pit episodes.

  • Shawn

Ricky Valdez ur a joker… Hes in better shape than most legends he would probably do well better than the hitman or hogan nd flair

    • XKonn247

He’s right. Here’s an example. WrestleMania when he took on Jericho, he was garbage. The only good legend in that match was Steamboat. If piper came back the match would be awful and tarnish his legacy. If you think differently you’d be very mistaken.

To any body who watches mma, is pipers son at least decent???

  • Msuth

Just because he’s in better shape than most of the legends is no reason to return to the ring!

If he can’t perform the way he did when he was at the top of his game he shouldn’t get back in the ring!

Most young fans won’t know who he is and those of us old enough to remember him will have our memories tainted!!!

  • Dangerous Lee

I’d much rather see piper try to wrestle than any khali match…
