Ring Of Honor House Show Results (04/11/08) - Boston, Massachusetts

Written by Chris Hickey on Apr 12, 2008 - 10:28:41 AM

The following results were written by Chris Hickey & are courtesy of the Wrestling Observer website. We do not like to get material from other websites so be sure and send us a live report if you attend any ROH show. Below are the results:

Ring of Honor - 4/11/08
Case Gym @ Boston University
Estimated Attendance: 600

A: Mitch Franklin b. ???? with a roll up. Sorry I didn't get a name. Could have been the first match but I'm not sure.
B. Bob Evans b. Kyle Durden in 3:55 with an arm bar.
C. #1 Contender for Top of the Class Trophy: Ernie Osiris b. Alex Payne and Rhett Titus in 3:54 when Osiris pinned Payne after a brainbuster.

1. Erick Stevens won a 4-way survival match over Roderick Strong, El Generico and Rocky Romero in 11:05 to earn a shot at the ROH title later in the night. Very good opener with some stiff chops and forearms between Strong and Stevens. El Generico was very over with the crowd. The match was mostly Strong and Romero against Stevens and Generico. Finish saw Stevens hit Strong with the Choo Choo Express from behind and then pinning him with a roll up.

2. Chasyn Rance b. Mike Bennet in 3:25 with a belly-to-back suplex. Rance is from FIP and has a lot of charisma.

3. Eddie Edwards b. Jigsaw w/ Mercedes Martinez in 3:25. Larry Sweeney came out mid match to offer his services to Edwards. Edwards ended up accepting Sweeney's offer after the match.

4. Jack Evans and Jigsaw b. The Briscoe Brothers in 11:02 when Jack pinned Jay with the 630. Very good match between these two teams. Evans was treated to a "Welcome Back" chant since he's been sidelined with a facial injury. Highlights included Evans hitting a Sasuke Special as well as a break-dance contest between Jack and Mark at the beginning of the match. Evans never ceases to amaze me with his agility and high flying. Definitely was the standout performer during the match.

Sara Del Ray was set to take on Daizee Haze but was interrupted by Larry Sweeney. He tried to intimidate Del Ray into rejoining Sweet and Sour, Inc. but she ended up walking out. Sweeney then confronted Haze, telling her he was going to take her out 3 on 1. Hero and Albright come out to attack her but Delirious, Claudio and Pelle Primeau ended up making the save leading to.....

5. Claudio Castagnoli, Delirious, and Pelle Primeau b. Chris Hero, Brent Albright, and Larry Sweeney in an elimination match when CC pinned Albright in about 23:00 to be the sole survivor.
- Sweeney over Primeau after Albright hit a half nelson German Suplex. 9:14
- Albright over Delirious with knee strikes. 12:50
- CC over Hero w/ Ricola Bomb. 15:15
- CC over Albright w/ Ricola Bomb.
I have no idea what happened to Sweeney during the match.

6. Davey Richards b. Kota Ibushi in 13:30 via submission with a kimura. Unbelievable match. Crowd was very into the match. Ibushi is one of the best performers I have seen live. Match included all his trademark spots like the standing shooting star press as well as the double jump moonsault. Match of the Night. ****

7. Nigel McGuiness b. Erick Stevens in 15:15 w/ arm bar submission. Match was OK. Featured all the usual McGuiness offence(Lariats, Tower of London, Pendulum Lariat etc.)

8. Kevin Steen b. The Necro Butcher in 18:47 when Steen submitted Butcher with the sharpshooter while Butcher was tangled in a barbed wire board. Sick match. The use of chairs, tables, thumbtacks and a barbed wire board were used throughout the match. Highlights included a tiger bomb into thumbtacks as well as a powerbomb into barbed wire.

Notes: This was the best paced ROH show I have been to. All the matches were good and the facility is the best one ROH has used since running shows in Boston. Ibushi was signing autographs after the show. He is the man.
