November 17th: Thank you to the wonderful fans of suburban Detroit and Toronto for two incredible events last Friday and Saturday night. Both cards featured can't miss, must see main event title defenses by Austin Aries, who now appears dead-set on proving his detractors wrong. His 45 minute classic last Friday in Detroit versus Davey Richards will end up in Match of the Year conversations, while his 35 minute battle with Kenny Omega on hostile ground only seemed to cement his claims. Is Aries the "greatest that ever lived"? Only time will tell, what is certain is that his road gets no easier! As announced this morning, by virtue of his submission victory over Aries in tag team action in Edison, NJ on November 7th and the fact that he holds a Pick 6 rank, Colt Cabana's petition for an ROH World Championship match has been granted and the bout will take place on December 5th when ROH returns to Chicago! Can Cabana "reverse the curse" and bring a championship to Maxwell Street? Find out on 12/5! Look for words from Cabana in the upcoming ROH Videowire!
November 17th: Roderick Strong and Tyler Black went to a brilliant 20 Minute Draw in Mississauga, Ontario last Saturday night. It was as pure a wrestling contest as you will ever see, and it appears we could be seeing the beginning of a budding rivalry between these two fine competitors. Both men retained their Pick 6 rank, and both men have Pick 6 matches coming up in Chicago.
November 17th: ROH on HDNet Executive Producer Jim Cornette will be in Chicago on December 5th! Not only will the "Louisville Slugger" make an appearance on the live event, but he'll be available for a FREE meet-and-greet before the event! November 17th: Thank you to everyone that tuned in last night to view Bryan Danielson's last television match in ROH, as he took on Roderick Strong in one of the best matches you'll see on TV all year. Strong was victorious in the contest, and emotions ran high. ROH appreciates everyone that weighed in on the bout on our Twitter, Facebook, and Myspace accounts, as well as at the message forum at ROHWrestling.com. November 17th: If you're a fan of in-your-face intensity and smashmouth wrestling, then we have a match for you! Tag Team action has just been signed for ROH's big return to Chicago on December 5th as Mark and Jay, The Briscoe Brothers, will take on a team that has run roughshot over nearly every team they've faced in their young ROH careers - Jon Davis and Kory Chavis – The Dark City Fight Club! One thing is for certain in this one: All four men will feel it the next day! Can the DCFC up end the Briscoes before they get to Final Battle? Or will Mark and Jay pick up even more steam toward championship gold? Be there in the Chi-Town and witness it first hand!
November 17th: There are already grumblings of controversy regarding the Pick 6 Series. Claudio Castagnoli dropped out of the rankings without directly losing a match, Kevin Steen now holds the Number One spot, and there are some upset that Colt Cabana has been granted a shot at the title despite only being ranked 4th when he asked for the match. As outlined on the main page, the Pick 6 Standings took on several forms in the span of two days and it just goes to show that ANYTHING can happen! November 17th: Eddie Kingston has been in contact with ROH officials over the last 48 hours looking for one more match with Chris Hero. "He embarrassed me in New York City, my home, in front of my people...mi familia, and one way or another I'll get my hands on Hero again. But I wanna handle things right and give ROH the chance to make it official. Otherwise, I got no problem finishing this in the street or the alley or even from behind in the locker room – right Hero?" As has been speculated elsewhere, ROHWrestling.com can also now confirm that Eddie Kingston was attacked prior to his match against Claudio Castagnoli during the last HDNet television tapings, and while the attack was not captured on tape, the aftermath was, and it will air as part of Episode 41 of ROH on HDNet. ROH officials have been conducting an investigation in the attack, and all potential suspects have been interviewed. Stay tuned to the Newswire as this situation develops.
November 17th: The injury bug bit over last weekend as Kevin Steen (knee), El Generico (hamstring), Kenny Omega (back), Austin Aries (back), and Katsuhiko Nakajima (ankle) all came out of Detroit and Toronto banged up. ROH Officials are waiting to hear if any of the men are going to miss time.
