Welcome to this week’s Ring of Honor! We start off the show with a highlight of last week’s show. Davey Richards demands a rematch against Steen, but not before cussing out Cornette. Jim gives Davey the match, but under one condition. If Davey loses, it is his last chance at the title. Richards tells Steen he is blood thirsty, and will take back what is rightfully his.
Michael Elgin comes to the ring, accompanied by Truth Martini. Matt Taven makes his way to the ring.
“Unbreakable” Michael Elgin w/ Truth Martini vs. Matt Taven
The two lock up, and Elgin backs Taven into the corner. Elgin goes for a chop, but Matt quickly moves away. Taven chops Elgin, but Elgin pushes him half across the ring. Elgin runs for a Lariat, but Taven ducks. Taven gets a few forearms, and tries to whip Michael. Elgin throws Taven into the corner, but Matt does a Float Over. Taven manages to dodge swings from Elgin, and does a Dropkick to Elgin. Taven runs the rope, but Elgin knocks him down with a shoulder. Taven is backed up against the ropes, and kicks Elgin in the face. Taven trips Elgin, getting him caught in the ropes. Taven holds the ropes, and Dropkicks Elgin’s head. Elgin regains composure, and takes Taven top rope. Elgin does a Superplex to Matt and pins. Kick out, and Elgin pins again. Kick out. Elgin begins kicking Taven in the head. Pin, but a kick out. Elgin picks up Taven and puts him in the corner. Elgin whips Taven from the corner. Elgin tries to pick up Taven, but Matt begins punching. Elgin is whipped, but Michael grabs Taven, who is running towards him. Taven goes fro a Hurricanrana, but Elgin reverses into a Sidewalk Slam. Pin, but a kick out. Elgin begins pounding away at Taven’s face, with a Rear Chinlock applied. Taven hits a Chinbreaker to Elgin, breaking the hold. Taven climbs towards the corner, and Elgin charges towards Taven. Taven moves, and rolls up Elgin. Pin, but a kick out. Taven begins kicking Elgin. Elgin hits a Rolling Elbow. Elgin runs the ropes, but Taven hits a Springboard Enziguri. Taven hits a Cyclone Kill to Elgin. Pin, but a kick out. Taven tries to pick up Elgin, but Michael pushes Taven in the corner. Elgin hits a Buckle Bomb to Taven, followed by a Spinning Sitout Slam.
Winner: “Unbreakable” Michael Elgin via pinfall
Backstage Veda Scott is interviewing Eddie Edwards. Eddie speaks of his match with Davey Richards being very important. Regardless of Davey and Steen’s match, Eddie will get his shot at the World Championship. Eddie says he need to prove himself, and beat Richards for his chance at thetitle.
Kevin Kelly and Nigel McGuinness speak of WGTT winning the World Tag Team Champions. They question their means of winning the title. A video package is shown, highlighting WGTT’s match against The Briscoes. Charlie Haas sprays a rag with fumes, and puts it in the face of Mark Briscoe. The choking from Haas knocks him out, winning the Tag Team Championships. Haas tries to justify his actions saying he was “cleaning” Mark, and then choking him out.
Kevin Kelly is in the ring, and welcomes World’s Greatest Tag Team to the ring. Shelton and Charlie are booed, and begins arguing with the fans. Kevin asks if they are proud of what they did at Border Wars. Haas says he wiped Mark Briscoe clean of chicken grease. Haas then says he choked him out, winning the gold. Kevin asks Shelton about everyone gunning for them. Benjamin says every time WGTT have a match, they are fined and suspended. Shelton are speaking of The All Night Express. Shelton says they have always wanted to be like them, but failed. Rhett Titus and Kenny King make their way to the ring. Kenny says he was listening to garbage, and came to stop it. Kenny says they are old, and have been doing the same thing for 10 years. Kenny says he will turn their old ass, to old news. Rhett says whether they like it or not, WGTT are looking at the next champions. Shelton says he is really looking at a team who wants to be like them. Rhett and Titus begin attacking WGTT, picking off Haas. Benjamin remains, and ANX begins kicking him. Rhett does a Dropkick, and Kenny does a count. Possibly foreshadowing the outcome of Best in the World, Kenny counts to three. Titus and King celebrate as WGTT leave the ring.
- Jay Briscoe says he wants a match against Charlie Haas. Jay is looking to get retribution for his brother. The match will be a Texas Death Match, one without rules.
- Roderick Strong speaks of having a match against Tommaso Ciampa next week. Truth tries to reassure him. Prince Nana and R.D. Evans are backstage speaking of Tommaso having his match next week. Jay Lethal is speaking of already proving himself. Jay beat Ciampa, and said he was set to face Ciampa. Jay says Ciampa was whining and crying, and got put in the match. Lethal says Strong should shine up the title, because he is taking it back.
- Kyle O’Reilly speaks about Adam Cole, and their match at Best in the World. Kyle says this Hybrid Fighting Match isn’t about winning, it’s about beating Cole up. Adam Cole says it is Pro Wrestling, not fighting. Cole says regardless of the stipulation, the outcome will be the same. Cole says he will prove why he is a better wrestler.
Eddie Edwards makes his way to the ring. Davey Richards makes his way to the ring.
Die Hard Challenge: “American Wolf” Davey Richards vs. “Die Hard” Eddie Edwards
The two lock up, and Davey pushes Eddie in the corner. Edwards struggles out, while the two maintain their Collar and Elbow. Eddie tries to hit Davey, but Richards gets an Arm Bar. Eddie reverses it, and gets Davey’s arm. Davey gets Eddies arm and does a Northern Lights Suplex. The two go to kick each other, but they both grab each others leg. They leg go and back up. They lock up again, and Davey does a Snapmare. Eddie reverses and gets a A Hammer Lock. Davey backs Eddie into the corner. Davey whips Eddie, but Edwards does a Float Over. They run the ropes, but Davey catches Eddie with a Spinning Heel Kick. Davey goes for a Dive to Eddie on the floor, but Edwards gets back in the ring. Davey kicks Eddie, and he goes to the floor again. Davey does a Baseball Slide, but misses. Eddie gets in the ring, Davey on the apron. Eddie Dropkicks Eddie off the apron into the barricade. Eddie begins chopping Davey against the barricade. They both get in the ring, and Davey hits a running kick to Davey. Eddie whips Davey from the corner, but Davey goes top rope. Eddie hits an Enziguri. Edwards goes for a Backpack Stunner, and seemingly connects. Davey gets an Arm Breaker, but Eddie gets the rope with his foot. The two are on the apron chopping each other. Davey catches the hand of Eddie, and twist it around. In the movement, Davey drives Eddie’s shoulder to the apron.
Davey picks up Eddie, and puts him against the barricade. Davey begins kicking Eddie’s chest, and throws him down. Davey is in the ring, as Eddie is crawling in the ring. Davey grabs Eddie and hits an Arm Ringer. Davey hits a Suplex. Pin, but a kick out. Davey traps Eddie’s arm with his leg and pulls. Davey breaks and yanks on the arm. Davey locks in a Triangle Choke on the shoulder of Eddie. Edwards breaks, but Davey throws him in the corner. Eddie chops Davey, but Richards elbows the arm. Davey goes for a Suplex, but Eddie fights back. Davey kicks Eddie, and goes for the Damage Reflex. Eddie picks Davey up, and hits a Falcon Arrow. Davey climbs up from the corner. Eddie is kicked in the face, but Edwards chops Davey. Eddie throws Davey to the floor, and hits a Suicide Dive. Eddie throws Davey back in the ring, and goes top rope. Eddie hits a Missile Dropkick, knocking down Davey. Pin, but a kick out. Eddie grabs Davey and cops him into the corner. Davey begins kick back, but Eddie hits a Dragon Suplex. Pin, but a kick out. Eddie goes top rope, but Davey begins attacking Eddie. Davey gets a Kimura on Eddie, but Edwards headbutts Davey off. Richards hits an Enziguri. Davey goes on the rope again, and begins headbutting Eddie. Davey hits a Superplex to Eddie, and follows with an Arm Bar. Eddie gets the leg, and reverses into a Single Leg Boston Crab. Davey reverses it into an Ankle lock. Eddie kicks away, and both men kick each other in the face. Davey spins around Eddie, and gets another Arm Bar. Davey rolls up Eddie, but Eddie reverses into a pin. They trade pins about 10 times. Davey hits an Alarm Clock, and Edie hits a Superplex. Eddie kicks a charging Richards and goes top rope. Davey chops Eddie on the top rope. Davey goes for another Superplex, but Eddie gets Davey top rope. Eddie does a Body Slam off the top rope. Eddie goes for a Stomp, but Davey moves. Davey rolls up Eddie and gets an Ankle Lock. Eddie kicks away, but Davey runs the ropes and kicks him in the chest. Davey goes top rope, and Jimmy Jacobs comes to the ring. Jacobs tries to push Davey off, but Richards kicks Jacobs away. Davey does for a Missile Dropkick, but Eddie catches the legs and rolls up Davey for the win.
Winner: “Die Hard” Eddie Edwards via pinfall
Davey is frustrated, but shakes Eddie hand. Davey walks away as the show fades.
