Quick Royal Rumble news & notes…

- WWE Royal Rumble 2014 was a legitimate sellout from the Consol Energy Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Attendance announced on the show was 15,715.

- Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger was backstage hanging out before the show and was shown sitting ringside on camera. Below is a photo with Ric Flair and Shawn Michaels:

- Alexander Rusev, who is from NXT and has been on main roster live events, debuted in the Royal Rumble match. He entered at #6 and was compared to Bo Dallas from NXT last year.

- Dolph Ziggler, who is coming back from a concussion, entered the Royal Rumble match at #12 and was Jim Duggan’s pick to win it.

- Kevin Nash was a surprise Royal Rumble entrant, entering at #14. He eliminated Jack Swagger immediately upon entering the match.

I’m going to say this right here.

Batista coming back, and within a week later wins the effing Royal Rumble, with Daniel Bryan as a noshow of the match? This to me is WWE’s Finger Poke of Doom.
