Santino On How He’s Stayed On WWE TV, Career Winding Down

Santino Marella is quoted in a new piece by Newsday to promote his anti-bullying appearance on Wednesday at Dylan’s Candy Bar on 3rd Avenue in New York City at 3 p.m. He’s grabbing a lot of attention for saying that he’s “winding down.”

Below is an excerpt:

“I realize I’m one of the older guys in the locker room, and I’m 5-foot-10. These young bucks are 27 years old and 250 pounds,” said Marella, adding that he’s interested in non-wrestling roles in WWE, including as a possible general manager on Raw or Smackdown or hosting a talk show on the WWE Network. “That way I’d be able to stay on the program and entertain people and be an even bigger part of the show . . . I’m definitely winding down.”

Santino opened his Battle Arts Academy pro wrestling school in Canada last year.

A Santino talk show would be hilarious.

I wouldn’t want him as GM of Raw or SD but something on the Network could work.

I’d hate to see santino get released I just hope wwe finds something for santino I think it would be kinda cool to be pair him with Adam rose as I think satino would get plenty of laughs out of everybody

Honestly I don’t really watch Santino’s matches, yes he can be entertaining to watch, but they usually don’t mean much, I’d rather watch him doing something that doesn’t involve wrestling, he’s a funny guy, I’d want him as a general manager, just to say others names wrong and pulling it off.

Santino’s tea time with Sheamus was one of my fav Santino segments. Even Kozlov got a pop! A Santino and Rose tag team would be entertaining and good way for Santino to pass the comedy torch to Rose
