Wrestling News World was founded in 1999 as UltimateWWF.com by George Patton, a professional wrestling fan turned Internet wrestling reporter from Ireland. The site achieved a phenomenal amount of success as one of the most popular sources online for professional wrestling news. In 2002 George Patton moved the web site to WrestlingNewsWorld.com following trademark issues with what was formerly known as the World Wrestling Federation.
In February 2003 site owner George Patton decided to pursue other interests and put the web site on the market for sale. Gray Internet Technologies, a Limited Liability Company out of the state of West Virginia, purchased the rights to the WrestlingNewsWorld.com domain name in February 2003 but did not retain any of the site's original content. Brothers Richard and Ryan Gray revamped the web site with an all new site design and direction. While the site had achieved a substantial amount of success under Patton, the entire mission of WrestlingNewsWorld.com was changed to a new modern direction under the new ownership.
Under the new direction and ownership the popularity of WrestlingNewsWorld.com soared to new levels, quickly establishing itself as one of the most popular independently owned professional wrestling news web sites on the Internet. Throughout the years WrestlingNewsWorld.com has added exclusive and interactive features including the first professional wrestling news web site to feature weekly blogs where fans can leave direct feedback on opinion based editorials.
Today WrestlingNewsWorld.com proudly serves over 700,000 unique visitors monthly. WrestlingNewsWorld.com is recognized throughout the entire professional wrestling industry as one of the top sources for accurate and up-to-date professional wrestling news, rumors, and information. The site's day to day operations are still maintained by Richard and Ryan Gray on a full-time basis.
