WWE Smackdown Results – (10/5/12)

Welcome to this week’s Smackdown! The Big Show is introduced, as he makes his way to the ring. Big Show will face Sheamus for the World Heavyweight Championship at Hell in a Cell. Show grabs a mic, saying at Hell in a Cell he has an opportunity to regain the World Championship. Show speaks of Sheamus joking around on Raw, because he may have a plan. That is until they are punched in the face. Big Show says Sheamus is joining an elite group of victims.

A video package is shown of Big Show knocking out many competitors, some including John Cena, CM Punk and Daniel Bryan.

The Champions, Best in the World, Hall of Famers; they all met the same fate. A knockout. Sheamus interrupts.

Sheamus thanks Show for the heads up. Sheamus says he was joking around on Raw, but his match with Show will be a big challenge. Sheamus says the best man will win, and extends a hand. Big Show walks away, and out of the ring. Sheamus says everyone has a plan, including Daniel Bryan at TLC last December.

A highlight is shown of Big Show defeating Mark Henry for the World Heavyweight Championship. After winning, Mark Henry attacked Big Show with a DDT against a chair. Daniel Bryan cased in his Money in the Bank to defeat Big Show for the World Heavyweight Championship.

Sheamus then shows Daniel Bryan losing his title at Wrestlemania 28.

Daniel kisses AJ, on the apron. As he turns around, he is greeted with a Brouge Kick. Sheamus won the World Championship in 18 seconds.

Big Show steps back in the ring. Sheamus offers another handshake, but snubs him as he walks out of the ring.

Later tonight, we will see Big Show face Tensai and Sheamus face Miz.

Kofi Kingston and R-Truth make their way to the ring.

Darren Young and Titus O’Neil make their way to the ring.

Tag Team Tournament Match: Prime Time Players (Darren Young and Titus O’Neil) vs. Kofi Kingston and R-Truth

Darren and Kofi lock up, but Kofi gets a Side Headlock. Kofi is whipped, and goes for a Monkey Flip. Darren stands, and pushes Kofi. Kingston runs the ropes, and does a Dropkick. Pin, but a kick out. Truth is tagged, as he and Kofi do a Double Arm Drag. Truth runs the ropes and does a Legdrop. Pin, but a kick out. Truth is backed into the PTP’s corner, as Titus is tagged. Truth fights off both members, but O’Neil does a Gutbuster. Titus chokes Truth against the ropes, and Darren kicks Truth’s head. Pin by Titus, but Truth was near the ropes. Truth tries to fight back, but Titus does a knee to the temple of Truth. Darren is tagged, as he is dropped onto Truth with a Front Suplex. Pin, but a kick out. Young locks in a Waist Lock, but Truth fights out. Darren knees Truth in the gut and runs the ropes. Truth does a Spinning Calf Kick to Darren, as he tags Kofi. Kingston comes in with a Springboard Lariat. Titus is hit off the ring, as Kofi does a Boom Drop to Young. Kofi follows by calling for Trouble in Paradise, but Titus distracts. Truth attacks Titus from behind, as Kofi goes for a TiP. Darren ducks, and Kofi runs the ropes. Titus trips Kofi form the floor. Darren picks up Kofi, and wins with a Gutcheck.

Winners: Prime Time Players via pinfall

Next up, Ryback will be in action.

Primo, with Epico and Rosa Mendes wait in the ring.Ryback makes his way to the ring.

Ryback vs. Primo w/ Epico and Rosa Mendes

Ryback is caught in a Waist Lock, but Ryback does a Body Slam to Primo. Ryback goes to Primo, but he sticks out of the ropes. Primo runs the ropes, but is taken down with a Big Boot. Ryback slams the back of Primo’s head against the mat. Ryback throws Primo face first to the mat. Ryback does a Tilt a whirl, but Primo gets out and chops the leg. Primo hits a Dropkick to a kneeling Primo. Ryback does a Back Body Drop to Primo, who rolls to the floor. Primo tries to leave, and Epico is hit with a Larait. Ryback throws Primo back in the ring, and hits a Larait. Ryback picks up Primo, and connects with Shell Shocked.

Winner: Ryback via pinfall

CM Punk and Paul Heyman are walking backstage, looking for Dolph Ziggler’s locker room.

Layla makes he way to the ring. Alicia Fox makes her way to the ring.

Layla vs. Alica Fox

Layla and Fox lock up, as Layla rolls up Fox. Kick out. Layla and Fox lock up again, as Layla does an Arm Drag. Fox does a Sunset Flip, but Layla does a Dropkick to Fox. Fox is smacked as Layla rolls up Fox again. Pin, but a kick out. Fox begins kneeing the inside of Layla’s leg, followed by smashing her knee against the mat. Layla is smacked, as she has her knee kicked in. Alicia follows with a Northern Lights Suplex. Fox twists the leg, and sits on it. Pin, but a kick out. Fox locks in a standing Figure Four variation. Fox breaks the hold, and is kicked in the gut. Layla is thrown into the corner, and Fox charged towards her. Fox is kicked in the gut, and hit with a Diving Crossbody. Pin, but a kick out. Layla gets away, and Fox is kicked in the head with a Roundhouse.

Winner: Layla via pinfall

Matt Striker talks about Layla wanting to regain the Diva’s Championship. Layla says Eve has been scheming, but Layla will make the victory much better when she wins her title back.

Punk asks why Dolph is avoiding him. Punk says that Dolph left, thanks to his old lady. Dolph talks about Punk and his worm doing the same a few weeks back. They begin arguing, as Booker T breaks it up. Later tonight, Punk and Dolph will settle their beef in a match.

Wade Barrett makes his way to the ring. A local jobber waits in the ring.

Wade Barrett vs. A Local Jobber

Wade kicks him in the gut, and punches him in the corner. Wade ducks a Lariat, and does a Back Kick to the stomach. Wade follows with a Pump Handle Body Slam. Wade is punched in the face, but is sat on the middle of the top rope. Wade pushes him, as he falls to the floor. Wade rolls him back in the ring, and pulls on his face. Wade follows with a Souvenir.

Winner: Wade Barrett via pinfall

WWE 13′ footage is shown between Sheamus and Big Show.

Sheamus waits in the ring. The Miz makes his way to the ring.

Champion vs. Champion Match: World Heavyweight Champion Sheamus vs. Intercontinental Champion The Miz

Sheamus and Miz lock up, as Sheamus is thrown into the corner Miz backs up, but beats Sheamus down in the corner. Miz is thrown in the corner, and beaten down by Sheamus. Miz is whipped, as Sheamus takes him down with a shoulder. Sheamus gets an Arm Bar, and sits on the arm. Pin, but a kick out. Sheamus puts Miz against the ropes, but Miz elbows out. Sheamus falls to the floor. As he tries to get back in, Miz knees him in the face. Miz follows Shamus to the floor, and throws him in to the corner post. Miz rolls Sheamus back in the ring and pins. Kick out. Miz kicks a seated Sheamus in the face. Pin, but a kick out. Miz locks in a Rear Chinlock, but Sheamus punches out. Miz quickly connects with a Backbreaker / Neckbreaker combination. Miz locks in a Headlock. Sheamus stands up, but is kneed in the gut. Miz is whipped, and greeted with a Lariat. Miz is speared into the corner, followed by a Rolling Senton by Sheamus. Miz is thrown in the corner, as he kicks out Sheamus’ leg. Miz follows with a DDT. Pin, but a kick out. Miz waits in the corner, and goes for a Larait in the corner. Sheamus catches Miz, and hits an Irish Curse. Miz is put on the apron, and has his chest clubbed in. Sheamus hits White Noise to Miz. Sheamus sets up for a Brouge Kick, but the Big Show comes out. Show gets on the apron, and knocks out Miz with a WMD.

Winner: Intercontinental Champion The Miz via disqualification

David Otunga is in the ring with a mic. David introduces himself, and wants to speak on behalf of the locker room. David shows a video of what happened after Smackdown last week.

Alberto Del Rio attacks Randy Orton after he is knocked out by the Big Show.

David thanks Alberto, saying Orton has been a menace to the WWE for the better part of a decade. David says he appreciates that Del Rio stood up to him Randy Orton’s music plays, but Alberto Del Rio comes out. Del Rio mocks Orton, with an emotionless face. Del Rio goes on the top rope, and does Randy’s arm pose. Del Rio grabs the mic.

Alberto mocks Orton in a deep voice. Del Rio says Orton wouldn’t dare be in the same building as Orton, because he would whimper like a dieing dog. Alberto then says a dieing snake. Del Rio says he cut the head off the snake, which makes him the new Apex Predator of the WWE. Booker T interrupts.

Booker says since Orton isn’t here, Del Rio will have some free time. Booker says he will compete in a tag team match with David Otunga, against Team Hell No!

Daniel Bryan makes his way to the ring. Kane makes his way to the ring. Bryan and Kane break into an argument in the ring.

WWE Tag Team Champions Team Hell No! (Daniel Bryan and Kane) vs. Alberto Del Rio and David Otunga w/ Ricardo Rodriguez

Daniel and David lock up, as Bryan is hit with a Body Slam. Otunga poses, as Bryan stands up. They lock up again, and Daniel begins kicking David. Daniel is whipped, and hits a Clothesline. Daniel starts yelling “NO!” and does a Dropkick to a cornered Otunga. Daniel flexes, messing with Kane. Otunga capitalizes, and hits a Neckbreaker. Del Rio is tagged, as he kicks Bryan in the corner. Del Rio does a Snap Suplex and pins. Kick out. Alberto locks in a Head Lock. Daniel gets out, and does a Sunset Flip. Pin, but a kick out. Alberto reverses into a pin, but a kick out. Daniel is corned, and as Del Rio runs to Bryan, is hit with a Drop Toe Hold. Del Rio gets a Face full of turnbuckle. Kane is tagged, as he attacks Alberto. A Sidewalk Slam follows some punches. Kane hits a Flying Larait from the top rope. Del Rio pushes Kane into Bryan, and follows with an Enziguri. Pin, but a kick out. Otunga tags himself in, and does a Spinebuster to Kane. Pin, but a kick out. David is caught, and hit with a Chokeslam. Daniel tags himself in, and hits a Flying Headbutt for the win.

Winners: WWE Tag Team Champions Team Hell No! via pinfall

Eve and Teddy are speaking backstage, as Teddy says he didn’t tell Eve to suspend Beth Phoenix. Long says he heard from Layla, and thinks that Eve attacked Kaitlyn. Teddy says if he was still General Manager, he would get rid of Eve. Booker asks if Teddy is jealous of Eve. Long says no, and Booker says he doesn’t want them bickering.

Big Show waits in the ring. Tensai makes his way to the ring.

Big Show vs. Tensai

Tensai and Show trade fists in the middle of the ring. Tensai backs up Show in the corner. Show chops Tensai in another corner. Big Show runs to Tensai, but is greeted with a Big Boot. Tensai’s Irish Whip is reveres, and is snet to the floor. Big Show follows. Tensai kicks Show’s leg, but Show hits a Clothesline. Tensai is rolled back in the ring. Big Show misses with an Elbow Drop, and Tensai hits a Senton. Pin, but a kick out. Tensai charges to a cornered Show, but moves. Big Show hits a Spear to Tensai, and sets up for a WMD. Sheamus runs to the ring, and hits a Brouge Kick to Tensai.

Winner: Tensai via disqualification

Raw Rebound:

AJ speaks that she has been put on probation. AJ says she has been given a coach to help her development as GM. AJ speaks to Wade Barrett, who says she is doing a horrible job. The coach says she lets her emotions get the better of her. AJ yells at Punk, Ziggler and Hell No in the ring to stop. AJ makes a matchup between Punk and Dolph vs. Hell No. AJ is also appointed the guest referee for the match. AJ kicks Paul Heyman and Vickie Guerrero out. Dolph leaves with Vickie, causing Punk to lose the match. AJ fires her coach, saying he hasn’t been a “player” in the game.

CM Punk makes his way to the ring with Paul Heyman. Dolph Ziggler and Vickie Guerrero makes his way to the ring.

WWE Champion CM Punk w/ Paul Heyman vs. Mr. Money in the Bank Dolph Ziggler w/ Vickie Guerrero

Dolph and Punk start arguing, as they start pushing each other. Punk gets a Side Headlock, but Dolph gets out. Dolph does the same, but is whipped against the ropes. Dolph tags Punk down with a shoulder. Dolph runs the ropes, and does a Dropkick. Dolph goes for a Zig Zag, but Punk carries Dolph on his shoulders. Ziggler gets away, and they stand off.

Punk has a Waist Lock on Dolph. Ziggler gets out, and gets a Hammerlock. Dolph then does a Headlock Takeover. Punk reverses into a Headscissors. Dolph gets out, and locks in a Headlock. Dolph is hit with a Back Suplex. Punk goes top rope, who fights with Dolph who is on the apron. Both men fall to the floor. Both make it back inside the ring. Dolph punches Punk, and runs the ropes. Dolph is rolled up in a School Boy. Kick out. Punk is then rolled up in a School Boy. Kick out. Dolph goes for a Leg Bulldog, but Punk kicks. Dolph ducks, and connects with a Leg Bulldog. Pin, but a kick out. Punk connects with a Roundhouse. Pin, but a kick out. Punk knees Dolph in the corner, followed by a Lariat. Pin, but a kick out. Punk does a Body Slam to Dolph and goes top rope. Ziggler punches Punk in the head, and headbutts him. Ziggler throws Punk off the top, and is sent to the corner. Dolph charges towards Punk, but is caught in the Go to Sleep.

Winner: WWE Champion CM Punk via pinfall

Punk stands on the announce table with a mic. Punk says he has heard it from Bret Hart, Jim Ross and the audience. Punk says he know what to do. Punk says everyone wants Punk to face Cena at Hell in a Cell. Punk says he could prove himself again by beating Cena at Hell in a Cell. Punk clarifies that he won’t though.

    The only good thing about this Smackdown was Team Hell No and Sheamus running in and interfering in Big Shows match. That was his payback and really fit well in Sheamus's character.
