WWE taped this week’s WWE Smackdown tonight from the Greensboro Coliseum in Greensboro, North Carolina. Below are full results:

WWE Smackdown (Airing on SyFy):

* Daniel Bryan opens the show with a promo. Kane interrupts, and Bryan informs Kane that he is breaking up Team Hell No so he can win the Tag Team Championships with Randy Orton. Kane is skeptical of Bryan and Orton's chances, and Bryan accuses Kane of thinking he is the weak link. Kane grabs Bryan by the throat, but is interrupted by Orton. Orton warns Kane not to hurt Bryan, so his chances of winning the tag titles on Sunday aren't hurt. Bryan asserts that he doesn't need anyone's help. All three are then interrupted by The Shield on the tron, who mock the problems that Orton, Bryan, & Kane are having.

* Sheamus b. Antonio Cesaro. Sheamus' back was busted upon during the match after being thrown into the steel steps. After the match, Damien Sandow attacked Sheamus on the ramp as he was leaving.

* Heath Slater w/ Drew McIntyre & Jinder Mahal b. The Great Khali w/ Natalya & Hornswoggle

* Chris Jericho & Alberto Del Rio b. Dolph Ziggler & Big E Langston

* Backstage, Chris Jericho discusses his upcoming match with CM Punk. Paul Heyman interrupts, and says Punk is the best in the world.

* Kaitlyn vs. Aksana never started. Kaitlyn, enraged by a Raw recap of what AJ did to her on Raw, viciously attacked Aksana. Aksana tried to escape but Kaitlyn stopped her and continued her assault. When the referee tried to get things under control, Kaitlyn slapped him. Kaitlyn then broke down crying.

* Curtis Axel b. Wade Barrett in a non-title match. Prior to the match, Barrett tried to convince Axel that they should save their energy for WWE Payback. After the match, The Miz hit Axel with a Skull-Crushing Finale.

* Randy Orton, Daniel Bryan & Kane b. The Shield. The match ended when Daniel Bryan made Rollins tap out to the No Lock. Lilian Garcia announced that it was the first time The Shield had lost a 6-man tag match.

And we’re underway! Sorry for the delay. Main Event spoilers are up, and it looks like we’re already off to a newsworthy show, if Team Hell No is really done.

    • Smart Mark

  • Vitor Tenório

so the shield finally lost, wonder what will happen sunday

    • Anand Vijayakumar

They will/have to win. DB is too precious to be wasted as a tag team champ. He must go after the main-event titles – either the WHC or the WWE title…

Maybe He will have a feud with Orton next before moving on to the main-event picture full-time. This match will result in the feud between Orton and DB as well as Orton’s much expected heel turn – My guess 🙂

Not sure how I feel about The Shield losing on a somewhat random match on Smackdown. It’s been built up to the point where I feel like it should’ve been on a bigger stage (at least Raw). On the other hand, they’ve beaten plenty of top names and the build was so strong that any eventual loss was going to be kind of a letdown. Anyways, I’m pleasantly surprised they let Bryan be the one to get the win. Big things are coming for him, it seems. After Payback, I’m hoping for a clearer direction for Bryan’s character and a compelling feud for the returning Dolph Ziggler.

Or maybe a feud for the WWE title as well 🙂 The guy is awesome and any push either for the WHC or the WWE title is well deserved. Only expecting better things from the guy… He is awesome

    Heath slater got a win.
A win over a former world heavyweight champion even if if is Khali

  • finally shield lost….

  • josh dupreez

ok what I don’t get is the fact the shield have been undefeated in all matches since they debuted back at ss but they lose to three wrestlers of main event level in a free tv show?????
wwe you are losing fans quicker than wcw

    • Matt

What the hell are you talking about? They lost to three main event guys and that’s bad? Who’d you have out them under to? 3MB?

      • josh dupreez

not saying that but to have them lose on FREE tv and not on pay per view seemd a bit odd to me

  • Cubed56

Awhile back it was written the shield was given some say in their storyline, so for them to go under on free tv and not to an icon like taker or HHH or “super cena” impresses me. Hopefully this brings them closer together and makes them more vicious and dangerous then before. It’s only a shame if this is the start of their split as its way too soon for that.
