WWE taped this week’s WWE Smackdown tonight from the Canadian Tire Centre in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Below are full results:

WWE Smackdown (Airing on SyFy):

* The Big Show opens the show with a promo. He apologizes for not doing what was asked of him on Raw. Triple H interrupts and, noting that Big Show is broke, suspends him for the night without pay. The Shield comes out and attacks Big Show. Big Show fends them off at first, but Roman Reigns hits him with a chair and The Shield takes control, finishing the attack with a triple powerbomb.

* Layla, Alicia Fox & Aksana b. Natalya, Naomi & Brie Bella by disqualification after AJ Lee interfered. After the match, a brawl breaks out between all of the Divas.

* R-Truth & Fandango meet in the ring for a dance contest. The Miz interrupts, wearing a fake afro, and enters himself into the contest. The Great Khali comes out and enters as well. The Miz wins the contest, which causes Fandango to complain about the other competitors being a disgrace to the art of dance. Fandango then gets sent out of the ring.

* Natalya, Naomi & Brie Bella attack AJ Lee in what appears to be a reshoot of the prior brawl.

* Backstage, Ryback introduces a local wrestler. The local wrestler says he wants a chance to get into the ring with Ryback. Ryback slaps him and says he dreams about beating up people like him.

* Backstage, Vickie Guerrero announces that Ricardo Rodriguez will not be in Rob Van Dam's corner at Night of Champions, due to concerns about his safety. She makes Ricardo vs. Alberto Del Rio official for later tonight.

* Santino Marella b. Damien Sandow. Prior to the match, Damien Sandow cut a promo berating the live crowd.

* Michael Cole interviews Curtis Axel & Paul Heyman. Axel says that CM Punk won't even get to Heyman, because Punk can't beat Axel. Heyman says he's a peaceful man, and calls for a boycott of the match. Heyman says if the WWE Universe buys the pay-per-view, they'll end up seeing CM Punk slaughter Heyman. Heyman says that it may be the last time we see him. Heyman closes by saying that he will always love Punk.

* Alberto Del Rio b. Ricardo Rodriguez. After the match, Del Rio locks in the Cross Armbreaker but Rob Van Dam runs out to make the save. RVD hits a Five-Star Frog Splash on Del Rio and celebrates with the title.

* Dean Ambrose vs. Dolph Ziggler ended when The Shield interfered, attacking Ziggler. The Usos made the save, and Vickie Guerrero turned the match into a 6-man tag.

* The Shield b. Dolph Ziggler & The Usos

* The ring is set up for an edition of The Cutting Edge. Edge makes his way to the ring to a great reception from the crowd. Edge starts by telling Christian to get revenge on The Shield upon his return. Randy Orton comes out to the ring, followed by Daniel Bryan. Edge calls Orton a sell-out. Orton says that Edge is jealous of his continued success. Edge notes that he is an 11-time world champion. Bryan says his dream was to be WWE Champion, and says he'll beat Orton at Night of Champions. Orton attacks Bryan, but Bryan fights back and applies the Yes Lock. Orton taps out and Bryan chants "Yes" with the crowd to end the show.

I wonder if there will be a double turn in the miz/fandango feud?
Miz is so much better as a heel but if Fandango become a face, he will most likely become a kids wrestler like Brodus and Santino

    • K!NG

Miz seems like he is trying to hard to be a nice guy i think he is just a nature asshole which works in pro wrestling

  • Anand Vijayakumar

Wasnt Edge supposed to make an appearance in the Smackdown show? or Did he show up in a dark segment?

    • BrooksOglesby

My mistake. I assumed the taping would be ending after the WHC segment. Obviously I forgot that the WHC isn’t even important enough to main event its own show, silly me! I’ve updated the coverage with Edge’s appearance and the rest of the happenings.

      • Anand Vijayakumar

        No worries 🙂 at all…

These days the WHC has been reduced to a filler just like the IC and the US titles. Wish the days when Undertaker ruled SD and was in the WHC picture come back. Those days SD was as good and even sometimes better than RAW 🙁

Del Rio needs to be taken out of the WHC title picture ASAP. He is bland and is making the WHC mean less and less with every passing day. People said Sheamus’s run as WHC was boring. Talk about understatement…

        • -|AZ|-

The feud between Taker and CM Punk (Killswitch Engage theme) was really good… I feel the WHC lost its value after ADR won it back from the Big Show

  • So I guess at the show with the tag line “Ever Championship must be defended” 2 titles have not been announced to be defended and 1 will likely not be fended at all. SMH

    • Krispen Wah

What are you talking about? We got Orton vs Bryan, ADR vs RVD, Ambrose vs Ziggler, AJ vs Total Divas, and the tag titles are defended against whoever wins on the pre-show. Only Axel isn’t defending.

      • Ambrose vs Ziggler has never been officially announced. it’s not even on the wwe.com’s website.
It will probably happen but as an unannounced match on the show.

  • iwc

Wit a terrible episode of Smackdown this looks like, the wwe has failed to do things the way i wanted it 2 go. im so sick of Orton as a heel already, at first i asked for him to be a heel but now I dont him as a bad guy either. im not sure what it is i want exactly but I know when a show sucks and sd defiantly sucked. this whole angle blows because Bryan hasn’t beat orton yet. i blame hunter and Vince, they don’t know what they doing. they should give the company 2 Heyman and let him run smack down

    • Razmos

OOOOOH stop your whining you big baby!!!!!!

  • Hussein

Well we all know Bryan is not winning this Sunday

  • VaneyScopaz

RVD will bring the WHC back a lot of Value like it had in the Batista Edge Cm punk Rey and Undertaker days but he’s gonna need a super fued with a top heel like Jericho

  • eskymi

Not that anyone will see this but this is the first time I have read the spoilers so I do not have to watch smackdown. Sadly it is becasue I figured it would feature HHH and OrtON doing their crap and that Bryan would get the advantage cause he will lose on Sunday.

What a shame too. I loved MLB until the Yanks/Sox took over and made baseball boring. Loved football up unitl the Pats became the talk of the town. Now Orton is making me hate WWE.

Only saving grace is I know eventually he will lose the belt, so I can just fast forward and read spoilers until that time.
