WWE is taping this week’s WWE Smackdown tonight from the Intrust Bank Arena in Wichita, Kansas. Below are ongoing results:

WWE Smackdown (Airing on SyFy):

* The show opens with Miz TV. The Miz brings out his guests, Randy Orton & The Big Show. Orton and Big Show talk trash but the segment quickly devolves as Jack Swagger, Alberto Del Rio, Mark Henry, and Sheamus come to the ring, one after another. Everyone hypes their match, but when Henry talks about the strap match, Sheamus grabs a strap. The faces then clear the ring. Teddy Long comes out to announce that Del Rio, Orton & Sheamus will be facing Big Show, Henry & Swagger in a 6-man tag team match tonight.

* Seth Rollins & Roman Reigns b. The Usos. The Shield attacked The Usos after the match, but Kofi Kingston ran to the ring holding a chair to make the save. The Usos & Kingston then cut a short promo on The Shield.

* Backstage, Damien Sandow approaches Teddy Long and pitches his own talk show: "The Damien Sandow Show." The Miz interrupts, and Teddy sets up a match between the two later tonight.

* Tons of Funk b. The Prime Time Players

* Chris Jericho b. Antonio Cesaro by submission with the Walls of Jericho. After the match, Fandango's music played and Summer Rae danced on the stage. Jericho turned his attention to her, allowing Fandango to attack him from behind. Jericho fought Fandango off and hit Cesaro with a Code Breaker.

* A promo from Zeb Colter & Jack Swagger plays on the Tron. Colter claims that Alberto Del Rio is not a real American. He accuses Dolph Ziggler of not really being injured, just afraid of facing Swagger. He says that real Americans don't quit, but Del Rio will. Swagger ends the promo by shouting "We the People."

* The Miz b. Damien Sandow by submission with the Figure Four Leglock.

* Kaitlyn b. Aksana

* Alberto Del Rio, Randy Orton & Sheamus b. The Big Show, Mark Henry & Jack Swagger. Orton hit an RKO on Swagger to get the win for his team. Sheamus hit Big Show with a Brogue Kick and the faces celebrated to end the show.

Hi everyone, welcome! Kane vs. Seth Rollins is in progress as I type this. Got word that Adrian Neville and Bo Dallas defeated Primo and Epico in the dark match. Smackdown results should start coming in around 9:00 ET. Any predictions for the Highlight Reel with Orton & Big Show tonight?

    • Kanewty

Lots of yapping leading to a tag match, fandangshow vs. Jericho & Orton

      • gagep931

        Well this is active xD

      • You missed Teddy coming out to make the Tag match 🙂

  • Sairwyke

Fandango & Show vs Jericho & Orton would be awesome, I’d tune in for that

  • BrooksOglesby

Smackdown is now underway, and it looks like Miz TV is replacing the Highlight Reel this week.

    • I would prefer Highlight Reel over Miz TV with my eyes closed…

      • BrooksOglesby

I’m so burnt out on wrestling talk shows in general, I really don’t see the use of them anymore. Very rare segments with notable names like Piper’s Pit are okay, but talk show segments nearly every week is almost contract signing-levels of boring.

But yeah, The Highlight Reel is miles better than Miz TV.

      • Jericho has been boring since coming back. The last few Miz TV segments have been good.

        • Jericho isnt boring, the feuds he is being put in, are boring. He should be fighting for some title and help a new title holder establish credibility – ex: Ziggler. Fandango and his dance gimmick is a waste of time (personally) and using Jericho’s talent to put Fandango over is a waste of his in ring talent…

Remember how Jericho elevated Punk and his title reign just last year? He could’ve easily done the same to Ziggler 🙁

          • I love Jericho but I hate the way hes been used since coming back. All he does is job out in high profile matches.

          • That is what established veterans do to put over new talent. Shawn Micheals’ last run in the WWE was full of it. He put over Orton and Cena. If not for their high profile feuds with Micheals & Micheals agreeing to lose to them, these guys may not have been as big a star as they are now. This is called Giving back to the business and putting over newer guys.

Jericho is doing that and kudos to him for agreeing to bring credibility for a new comer.

Yes, I agree that he is losing a lot of high profile matches but his losses are creating newer stars for the company which is good.

          • Yelowulf

Punk was elevated by Cena way before Jericho came into the picture. Jericho jobs so much that him putting someone over doesn’t really mean anything anymore

          • It means a lot still. Punk was elevated by Cena way before Jericho, agreed, but his status as a dominant champ was elevated even further because of Jericho. Who can claim to have defeated Rock and Austin in the same night for the undisputed world title? Jericho can and that one claim can add tons of credibility to anybody who can pin Jericho.

Take Ziggler – His main event push started last year when he won the money in the bank but it gained significant momentum when he beat Jericho and sent him out of the WWE for a short while.

Fandango – is an absolute nobody to the fans but his feud with Jericho is the key reason why fans take so much interest in the guy. Do you really think people would care much about a dancer trying to wrestle??

  • I am seriously getting bored with the usual many guys arguing at the top of the show to kick it off and then Teddy long coming in to make a tag or a 6 man tag or some random match. It is becoming extremely predictable. Almost every week Smackdown starts in exactly the same way….

    • Xavier

That’s the point though, it’s a running gag on Smackdown.

  • Ahh Tag Team Match Teddy is at it again

  • Dustyn

WWE returns to Edmonton at the end of May. For the last several weeks, Swagger had been advertised for the main event (dark match). Don’t quote me for sure, but I think it was Big Show, Swagger, and Mark Henry, vs Del Rio, Orton, and Sheamus. This week during RAW during the commercials, Swagger was no longer advertised. I’m thinking maybe due to his legal trouble going on right now, he can’t travel to Canada. Zeb Colter is being advertised to appear however.

  • Michael

I thought the highlight reel was supposed to be where show and Orton were interviewed.

  • Zeb Colter bashed the US government for their IRS scandal! Im glad Zeb is educating the audience on current events. Seems like a good show. All of my favorites are on it. I really hope we get a long feud between Sandow and Miz.

  • Hussein

Thank god raw is coming to Calgary but smackdown tapings are always fun RAW IS CALGARY BRET HART APPRECIATION NIGHT MAY 27 2013

  • Tag Team Teddy has done it again

  • Rayner Chee-bai

Roman Reigns is starting a civil war with The Usos lol. And the Tag Team Match Teddy returns this week though there’s no sign of The Undertaker, but with Orton it’s still done the job lol

  • ADR same tag team with Randy n Sheamus?? lol

  • Cesaro lost again no point to watch.
