Smashing Pumpkins Frontman Starts A Wrestling Promotion

Wrestling News World writer Rick Craig sent in the following:

Billy Corgan, leader of the band, The Smashing Pumpkins, has decided to become more than just a fan of pro wrestling. Along with a pair of wrestling promoters, Corgan has launched Resistance Pro, which is based out of Chicago.

The fledgling promotion will makes its debut in the Windy City this Friday night but has its sights set on eventually expanding on a national level. Corgan said the following on the subject:

“We have to start in Chicago and build a name for ourselves, and build enough of a reputation to take it other places. It’s a serious endeavor.”

    I heard him do a radio interview on a wrestling talk show and Corgan really sounded like he knows what he's doing.

    This has been in the works for a couple of months at least. Some familiar names are going to be a part of this. Raven and Harry "David Hart" Smith are two examples off the top of my head. Corgan is a well-known wrestling fan. As someone who loves both wrestling and the creative high-points of the Smashing Pumpkins' career, this pleases me greatly.

    I actually got an ad when I walked out of ROH Glory by Honor X even when it was over. Its gonna be on 11/25 at Excalibur night club in the city. I think bell time is 7:30 pm.
