WWE taped this week’s episode of WWE Smackdown tonight from U.S. Bank Arena in Cincinnati, Ohio. Below are full results:

WWE Smackdown:

* Triple H and Seth Rollins come to the ring together to open the show. Rollins is still wearing his Shield gear. Rollins says that no one knows why he turned on The Shield but him. Dolph Ziggler interrupts and calls Rollins a sellout. Triple H announces Rollins vs. Ziggler next.

* Seth Rollins b. Dolph Ziggler

* Backstage, Big Show approaches Triple H & Seth Rollins. He also calls Rollins a sellout, so Triple H puts Show in a match against Randy Orton tonight.

* The Usos b. Curtis Axel & Ryback in a non-title match.

* Rusev b. Xavier Woods. A large Russian flag was hanging above the ring.

* Bad News Barrett b. Rob Van Dam & Cesaro in a Triple Threat match. Paul Heyman was on commentary for the match.

* Bray Wyatt appears on the Tron and cuts a promo addressing his loss at Payback. He says Sister Abigail warned him about this.

* Natalya b. Alicia Fox. After the match, Fox had another ringside tantrum, shouting at the announcers and messing up the announce table.

* Bo Dallas b. Santino Marella w/ Emma

* Randy Orton vs. Big Show ends when Seth Rollins interferes, attacking Big Show. Rollins and Orton beat down Big Show together and stand tall to end the show.

Rollins vs. Ziggler is music to my ears.

  • Dave Barton

So Rollins’ explanation is “If you don’t know then I’m not telling”…sounds to me like even Creative can’t come up with a reason for the heel turn.

    • supercilious1

I don’t see a problem with that. Why give it a way so quickly? They can build towards his explanation in the weeks ahead. Fans today need to have more patience.

      • Nick k

Yea that’s the overall problem, people think that because they read a few articles on a website they know everything that’s going on. It’s gotten pretty old.

    • Avalanchian

For all we know he could simply backstab HHH and rejoin the Shield again since he is still wearing the gear.

    • kingdook24

My thinking exactly. I don’t even see the point of having them both open the show only to tell us what we already know that the only person who knows why he turned was himself. DUH!

But… I’ll give it a chance. See where they go from here. No Bryan, Cena or Reigns/Ambrose on SD! Looks like a heavy heel-based episode.

And Ziggler jobs again. Surprise, surprise.

Why waist an explanation on SmackDown when Reigns and Ambrose aren’t going to come out because they are “selling injuries” This needs to be saved for Raw

  • Bob’s Diner

Good to see them resume that whirlwind Big Show/Randy Orton feud that set the world on fire last year

  • Avalanchian

Ziggler should have made the save in the end.
