*Spoilers* Smackdown Taping Results From Cincinnati, Ohio

WWE taped this week’s WWE Smackdown Tuesday night from the U.S. Bank Arena in Cincinnati, Ohio. Thanks to Wrestling News World reader Jason for sending in live results. Below are full results:

WWE Smackdown (Airing on SyFy):

* The show opens in the ring with the latest edition of MizTV. The Miz‘s guests this week are Sheamus and Randy Orton. They begin to discuss whether they should add The Big Show to their team for their match at WrestleMania 29. Sheamus admits that he saved them on Raw, but he still doesn’t trust him. Orton notes that he doesn’t trust anybody. The Big Show comes to the ring, and The Miz says that he still doesn’t trust Big Show after their tag team dissolved. Big Show takes a mic and makes his case for why he should be added to the team. Booker T comes out and decides to put Orton, Sheamus & Big Show into a 6-man tag team match tonight in order to determine whether they can function as a team.

* Mark Henry b. Zack Ryder. After the match, Henry continued hitting Ryder with World’s Strongest Slams until Ryback made the save. Ryback clotheslined Henry, causing Henry to retreat.

* Backstage, Teddy Long asks Booker T what he thinks about Ryback vs. Mark Henry at WrestleMania 29. Booker says he doesn’t like that Teddy worked with Vickie Guerrero to make the match, since he works for him. Teddy says that Booker’s Hall of Fame induction changed him.

* Dolph Ziggler w/ Big E Langston b. Kofi Kingston. AJ Lee was on commentary for the match. After the match, Big E attacked Kofi.

* Backstage, Sheamus & The Big Show argue about their match tonight.

* Jack Swagger & Zeb Colter make their way to the ring to cut a promo. Colter says that Swagger’s attack on Ricardo Rodriguez was nothing compared to what will happen to Alberto Del Rio at WrestleMania 29. He also says that the attack on Rodriguez was a warning to anyone else who disagreed with them. Swagger began shouting “We the people!” until Chris Jericho‘s music hit.

* Jack Swagger b. Chris Jericho. During the match, Fandango came out, eventually distracting Jericho and allowing Swagger to get the win. After the match, Fandango attacked Jericho and hit him with a leg drop from the top turnbuckle. He then reminded Jericho how to say his name.

* Backstage, Matt Striker interviews The Big Show about whether Sheamus can trust him. The Big Show says that they’ve all been attacked by The Shield, so they can trust each other.

* Brodus Clay & Tensai w/ Cameron & Naomi vs. Team Rhodes Scholars w/ The Bella Twins ended when The Bella Twins attempted to interfere, distracting Brodus. This led to the Funkadactyls attacking them. Brodus, Tensai, & The Funkadactyls danced in the ring to celebrate after the match.

* Backstage, Matt Striker interviews Sheamus & Randy Orton about whether they can trust The Big Show.

* The Miz b. Antonio Cesaro by submission with the Figure Four Leglock. Wade Barrett was on commentary for the match. After the match, The Miz reapplied the submission hold while inviting Barrett into the ring. Barrett chose to walk away.

* Randy Orton, Sheamus & The Big Show b. 3MB. Big Show hit a WMD, but Sheamus tagged in and got the win for the team. As they argued, The Shield appeared. They attempted to enter the ring, but Orton, Sheamus & Show wouldn’t let them, so they retreated to end the show.

Oh god, oh god, oh no — it’s really happening? Y2J and Fandango at Wrestlemania? If this match is in any way dance-related, Jericho will have jumped the shark. The entire WWE may have jumped the shark. The only way they could possibly make it worse is if they started some wacky angle that culminates in Clay, Tensai, and the Funkadactyls facing Team Rhodes Scholars and the Bellas . . . NNNOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Until you mentioned this, I had completely forgotten that Jericho was on Dancing with the Stars!

  • Xavier

Here’s a sick twisted idea that’s never been thought of before. Lets actually watch SD 1st before we shit on it and decide rather it’s a bad episode or not.

  • Yung

So Y2J went from being in a WWE title match with their 1b guy at last years WM to being in a match with a guy that hasn’t even debuted and has a joke of a gimmick? Jericho deserves better.

    • Xavier

it’s called putting over new talent. Isn’t that what the IWC wanted? First it’s “why won’t they push the new guys” and when they do, people still complain.

      • opie

No. This isn’t putting over new talent. This is one of the best in-ring performers of the past twenty years being put into a hare-brained Wrestlemania program with a fugue-inducing gimmick wrestler who has yet to even make his debut. What’s even worse is that, with seven matches already on the card, this program could bump guys like Barrett and Cesaro out of the picture.

        • Xavier

First off, Johnny Curtis is nowhere near being one of the best wrestlers of the past 20 years. I’m curious to know what makes you think that? Second, the gimmick is getting great heel heat. Third, not every match at Mania is meant to be a serious/blood feud so a Jericho/Fandango match being put on the card as a filler match between main events won’t hurt anything at all. Fourth, Barrett & Cesaro aren’t in feuds to begin nor was it ever implied that they would have a match at Mania therefore they weren’t bumped for anything. Fifth, Curtis/Fandango or whatever you wanna call him isn’t an established wrestler in this business so a win over Jericho literally is Jericho putting him over.

          • opie

Why on earth did you think I was talking about Johnny Curtis? That’s not what I said, and I don’t see how you interpreted it that way. Jericho, however, IS one of the best wrestlers of the past twenty years (which is what I said). And that’s not heel heat Fandango’s getting — it’s Glacier heat. It’s please-go-away heat. I’m not blaming Johnny Curtis. This is a creative problem and a booking problem. They have good characters who are putting on good matches all the time, but those aren’t the guys on the Wrestlemania card (granted, this Jericho/Fandango travesty isn’t on the card yet either, but that seems to be the direction it’s headed). And beating Jericho won’t do anything for Curtis. Once it’s done, he’ll still have this gimmick. He still won’t matter. He’ll be the new Tensai.

      • Yung

Now one wants Johny Curtis pushed as “FANNN-DANNN-GOOOO”

  • I’m The Swizz and I’m British

I have a feeling that Miz will face both the IC Champ and the US Champ in a three way to determine the champions of those titles. The match happens twice, one match per title. The finish is reversely similar to what Kurt Angle experienced in WM 2000, which is the ‘champs’ lose their belt and Miz attain them all.

    • Xavier

I wouldn’t mind that at all. Imagine if Miz came away with both of those titles, that would really get him over as a face. Something that he desperately needs that this point.

It is ALWAYS a shitty episode of Smackdown as long as they make Drew McIntyre job to ANYONE, even his best friend, Sheamus. Soooo, with the exception that we do get to actually SEE Drew, this episode of Smackdown SUCKED BALLS!

    • opie

      I’m guessing that you’re Scottish…

    • opie

…though that seems like an Irish name. Either way, I always thought WWE had a solid opportunity for a stable with Drew, Wade Barrett, and Mason Ryan. If they could find a Northern Irish wrestler to cap it off, that would be perfect. They could call themselves Empire and feud with Sheamus. I probably just have too much free time.

  • Lacellen McIlysh

Hell, for that matter RAW SUCKED BLOOD SOAKED BALLS because Drew McIntyre was FORCED to JOB, yet AGAIN! WWE needs to get their heads outta their stinking asses and USE DREW RIGHT!USE DREW RIGHT!USE DREW RIGHT!USE DREW RIGHT!USE DREW RIGHT!USE DREW RIGHT!USE DREW RIGHT!USE DREW RIGHT!USE DREW RIGHT!USE DREW RIGHT! Did I drop a big enough HINT??!

    • Xavier

Push McIntyre for what? They pushed him in 09-10 and he was horrible. He can’t cut a promo to save his life, can’t wrestle nor does he generate any sort of response from fans. Even when he was getting pushed the fans could of cares less about him, he was getting little to no reaction. 3MB is exactly where he should be right now. That’s about as over as he’ll ever get.

      • opie

I agree. I’ve never really seen much grit or charisma out of him, and his in-ring work isn’t outstanding. He’s good as part of a stable, and he’d probably be a good tag team guy if he could find chemistry with someone. That’s about it, and that’s why I like the idea I posted below.
