Stephanie McMahon Delivers Keynote Speech On Day Of Mass WWE Releases

Richard Reacts: None of today’s releases were particularly surprising but I have to question the timing. Why would WWE publicly announce 10 releases when Stephanie McMahon was scheduled for a keynote speech at a major conference? Further, what does it do for talent morale to see one of the company’s top executives smiling from ear to ear on a day where 10 people lost their jobs?

While I agree with you, Richard… WWE is a huge business with many jobs. Stephanie has to do her job… HR/Talent Relations have to do theirs.

There is never a “good time” to future endeavor anyone in any circumstance. I know this first hand as a business owner myself.

But wouldn’t it make more sense from a business perspective to announce the releases on a day where no major public appearances are scheduled? And why Instagram a big smiling photo? Just seems bizarre.

I would bet it had to do with the recent hemorrhaged money and the necessity to review who they could and shouldn’t get rid of.

I wonder how JTG is even employed still..he must offer the WWE street/hood cred.

I’m sure they had this appearance planned far in advance. How were they to know today would be the day of the releases? Nice over analyzing there Richard.

These releases are most likely the result of WWE not getting the TV contract they had hoped for and the failure that is the WWE Network.
