Steve Austin Offers Uncensored WWE Evaluation Following Raw Visit

Steve Austin used his time backstage at this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw in Los Angeles to form a “state of WWE” evaluation that’s featured in his latest PodcastOne podcast.

Austin said Vince McMahon seemed preoccupied with a lot on his plate right now and that he conducted future podcast interviews with John Cena, William Regal, Big Show and Zeb Colter.

He said Cena wants new opponents and someone to fight for his spot. Austin assumes that Rey Mysterio had heat for being booked #30 in the Royal Rumble match, knowing that entrant would generate a heel reaction. Austin said there was a high degree of professionalism backstage but a lot of people afraid to speak up in fear of pissing someone off. He encouraged workers to start taking chances.

Austin is right there are times when to speak up and when not to but you shouldn’t be afraid to never say a thing. regardless if your opinion or suggestion is for good of the whole company or you personnally…

It seems you could possibly piss off the wrong person.

Exactly – the company is run in a very different manner to when Austin was performing

I doubt Rey Mysterio has heat backstage – WWE seemed completely unaware of the potential backlash they were going to get at Royal Rumble. And as for Cena wanting people to fight for his spot, what does he think has been happening the last few years? I feel like him and HHH always blaming other wrestlers for not ‘wanting it enough’ is such a copout. They pushed John Cena and never stopped and it worked. No arguments there. But WWE seem completely incapable of showing that kind of faith in anyone since.

IF Rey has any heat, which I doubt, it’s from the fans for the Rumble, poor Rey.

Also I think they want another John Cena, and compared to what he does for the business.. I don’t think many match up. I bet he’s going to be the face of the company for while yet.
