Steve Austin: Shawn Michaels Is "The Greatest In Ring Performer I Have Ever Seen"

Shares 0

Stone Cold Steve Austin has a new blog on his Broken Skull Ranch website. He praises Shawn Michaels in the worlds of wrestling and hunting in the excerpt below:

"I may be headed straight into another project if the business end of things works out.  If not, the Austin Clan will take a quick trip down to the Broken Skull Ranch for 10-14 days.  Shawn Michaels and I have been trying to get together for a hunt for the last year and this could be the opportunity to get it done.  Shawn has really taken to the outdoor world like a duck on a Junebug. Shawn’s show, MacMillan River Adventures has been a hit and when I spoke with Shawn in Las Vegas at the SHOT SHOW he was up for several awards.  Shawn’s success is not a surprise to me.  He’s extremely dedicated and motivated to be the best he can be at any endeavor he takes on in life.  He is the greatest in ring performer I have ever seen.  The fact that his talent and commitment transferred over from the squared circle to the world of hunting does not surprise me.  Shawn has segued from being the “Show Stopper” to the “Game Stopper”.  I’m proud of him and his success."

so does this mean Austin will one day guest star on HBK's hunting show.

That'd be cool to watch. Stone Cold would get Shawn drunk in the middle of the forest, lol.

Only if he arrives on scene riding the Smoking Skull ATV. I literally fell out of my chair laughing when he rode that thing down the hall of the Tough Enough training facility!

I think hbk the hunter and D-bryan the vegan can pull off a really good promo face off

I have to disagree with stone cold on one of his comments, Shawn is a top 5 in ring performer, but not the best. That award easily goes to Ric Flair. Flair wrestled 60 minute matches 7 days a week and they were great matches that people remember to this day. As great as Shawn was, people remember very few of his matches except his wrestlemania ones and a few others. Ask a Shawn Michaels fan and he could maybe name 10 matches that were great in Shawn's career, ask a Ric Flair fan, and he could name 10 great matches in one year of Flair's career. Big difference in the quality and greatness of their matches.

I agree Flair is greatest of all time easy

You've no idea what you're talking about.

I do look at Flairs matches in nwa And early wcw! michaels is prob #2 but Flair tops everyone

        • The guy was a divison one aiomphcn wrestler. He probably knows how to cut weight better then anyone else. His cardio looked fine in all other fights. Brock simply can’t take a punch. You saw it in the first fight, and you saw it in this fight. Cain took his heart away. I read that people at ring side could here brock yelling, No No No No!!! right before the fight was stopped. Brock needs to spar 100% 7 days a week.

I’m sorry but flair is over hyped. I’ve never liked the way he needs to over sell moves. Like he gets up and swings incoherently like an ass clown and then topples over, just keep your ass down and sell it realistically

"Shawn has segued from being the “Show Stopper” to the “Game Stopper”."

"Game Stopper"? Talking about HBK's abilities as a "Hunter"? If I was a conspiracy theorist, I'd consider this proof positive that Michaels is gonna cost Triple H the match at WrestleMania. But no, I'm fairly sure that Austin's choice of words was purely coincidental!

The greatest in ring worker of all time hands down IN MY OPINION is HBK. I’m 23 years old and my memories of Ric Flair was him getting his ass handed to him every Nitro at the hands of the nWo. As a wrestling fan I’ve watched old Ric Flair matches and while he was great on the mic, Ric Flair had the same match night in and night out. He did his spots over and over again. HBK could put on a classic with anyone, anysize. He can get hardcore and be believable at the same time. He can wrestle with the best of them. Classics with Angle, Benjamin, Triple H, Mankind, Diesel, Razor Ramon, Tito Santana,Undertaker, Bret Hart then he helped elevate the stars of today such as Cena and Randy Ortan. One of my favorite Cena matches was him and Michaels at Mania. HBK could do it all in the ring, Greatest of all Time.
