Sting Makes Cryptic Tweets, Points To 07.14.14

Sting, who hasn’t used his verified Twitter account since April, posted the following cryptic Tweets on Tuesday:

On July 14, 2014, WWE will hold their live Monday Night Raw taping from The Richmond Coliseum in Richmond, Virginia. Whether or not Sting’s cryptic Tweets are any way connected with WWE is unknown at this time.

We can confirm WWE and Sting are working together as was evident with WWE’s plans for a Sting DVD in September and a casting call last month, where the company sought after an “Orchestra” to tape a segment with Sting face paint.

Richard Reacts: Let’s add some notes. As mentioned above, WWE filmed a promo featuring an “Orchestra” — in Sting facepaint — on June 16, 2014. This was believed to be for inclusion in either DVD promotion or the DVD (set for September release) itself. We’ve also mentioned there’s a possibility there could be a Sting/WWE 2K15 related announcement. I wouldn’t expect Sting to spoil a surprise appearance at next week’s Raw in Richmond, however, there’s no way we can run this story without connecting the obvious.

For those that use a Mac to read, use Shift, Command, 4 and highlight over the image to more clearly see Sting in his “Crow” facepaint.

I’ve had a mac for over a year and never realized you could do that >_<

When Sting is actually inside a WWE ring then I’ll believe it. Until then these Sting to the WWE talks are just hearsay. These talks have been going on for over 12 years now, I stopped buying into it years ago and quiet frankly Sting is well past his prime. Not really sure what the point of him returning now would really do help the WWE.

He is definitely past his prime but he can still wrestle a hell of a match

Well considering WWE’s network #s are lower than expecting I think Sting could help with that. WWE should a Sting documentary and make it exclusive on WWE Network.

I’ve wondered over the years whether Vince just wanted Sting as the final feather in his cap before Sting hangs up his boots (kind of like Sinatra bagging a bloated and waning Marilyn Monroe just before she died). Buying WCW was his greatest victory, and Sting was the only guy he couldn’t get when WCW folded — Mr. WCW, who was there from beginning to end. It means less as time passes, but if you’re Vince McMahon, isn’t that the last brushstroke on your great masterpiece?

I don’t care if the guy is 104 years old I want him in a WWE ring once before I die.

    July 14 is stings birthday

    • Mike McCarthy

      March 20.

      • Brian Kerk

Maybe July 14 was his re-birth day.

As much as I would LOVE to see Sting in a WWE ring before he retires, I have a feeling that while this may be WWE related, it’s going to more likely be an official announcement of either the DVD they are working on or his video game debut in WWE 2K15. I shall keep an open mind just in case.

  • Mike McCarthy

Don’t get your hopes up, this is probably going to be the announcement of Sting as the Pre-Order exclusive character for WWE 2K15. DVD’s aren’t as big of a deal, and I won’t believe Sting returning to the ring prior to WM31 until I see it with my own eyes.

  • Ken

I’m in the vast majority (or the minority) that says I’ll believe it when I bloody well see Sting in WWE. Of course, this could also have something to do with an announcement of Sting in WWE 2K15. Either way, seeing will be believing come 7/14/14.

    Undertaker Vs. Sting at Summerslam

  • Vic Jose

If WWE was smart they would tease it to get people to tune in

  • JR Texx (Jamie)

    Okay, now I’m excited.
