Sting’s WWE Interest, TNA Putting Him Out To Pasture, Storm & Samoa Joe

On the heels of Thursday’s Ask WNW, Sting told the VOC Nation Radio Network he would still like to face The Undertaker at Wrestlemania and that he has always does an annual contract with TNA Wrestling.

He confirmed what we’ve already reported in that WWE contacted him about a program in 2011 but a deal obviously wasn’t reached. Sting said he felt like his induction into the TNA Hall of Fame last year was the company putting him “out to pasture.” He said creatively TNA needs to get James Storm and Samoa Joe going again.

This whole Sting/Taker ship saled over a decade ago. Cena/Taker or even Lesnar/Taker would generate a much bigger buzz and draw better and would make for a much better match inside the ring at this point.

    • Chalon

Cena/Taker or Lesnar Taker draw more than Sting/Taker? No way. Not even close.

      • Xavier

Yes. Cena & Lesnar are way bigger draws then Sting

        • Chalon

But is not always about that. Is not about each star’s drawing more individually, in this case this is a dream match many fans want to see. And the fact alone of seeing Sting in a WWE ring itself would be a bigger draw than Lesnar or Cena. You are not looking at this the right way.

          • Xavier

I’m believe I am looking at it the correct way. Cena is clearly a bigger star then Sting. He has more mainstream appeal then Sting ever had. You honestly think a 50+ old Sting could put on a better match with Taker then Cena could? If Sting/Taker was to ever happen I would bet my house that it wouldn’t outdraw Cena/Rock. The Sting ship saled over a decade ago. The only people wanted too see this now are people who are stuck in the past reliving the Monday Night Wars. Undertaker only has so many matches left in him and they shouldn’t be wasted on over the heal legends with barely anything left in the tank.

          • Logan

hill* lol no older wrestling fans who stopped watching because of the John Cena BS would buy that wrestlemania just to see Sting Vs Taker. Plus Cena vs Taker would be horrible. Plus we’ve seen it several times…not interested in saying that one again.. John Cena is stale and boring

          • Logan

            seeing that one*

          • Xavier

Several times? When’s the last time Cena wrestled Taker? Sting is 55 and Taker is 48, no in hell is that a better match then Cena/Taker. Not only does Cena/Taker or Lesnar/Taker outdraw Sting/Taker but both would be way better matches.

  • Michael

A sting/taker match at mania among with a punk/Austin and rock/lesnar and cena and whomever he faces will be the biggest wrestlemania ever.

    • Avalanchian

      Cena vs Axel

  • Robert Olley

Wonder what the odds are that wwe/tna would do a cross pomotion? Both would get a massive payday, sting keeps his loyalty to tna and most fans get their dream match,

    • Justin Lal

      I like this idea.

      • Carlos is a dumbass

        It’s a terrible idea

    • Loren Goldstein

WWE has nothing to gain and everything to lose by doing that.It would completely favor TNA.

      • Robert Olley

Wwe would bring in more wrestlemania buys than ever im not a sting fan but hes one of the most popular wrestler in history

        • Loren Goldstein

But WWE would have to promote TNA on their biggest show of the year. Why would they promote the competition? I could see them doing a one time shot with Sting, but not a cross-promotion.

      • Richard Doyle

Not If Vince had ALL His guys Beat TNA’s Guys

        • Loren Goldstein

And why the hell would TNA agree to that?

          • Carlos is a dumbass

Better yet, why would WWE agree to that?

          • Loren Goldstein

I could see WWE agreeing to have all of their guys go over, to prove that they were the better organization.

          • Richard Doyle

Vince would do it, because It makes any of his, look better than Dixie’s, PLUS it would throw Dixie off of trying to make a deal in the future… OR… It could Butter up TNA Superstars with WWE for a possible Jump.

          • Nostaljack

Why would TNA agree to that. It would mean exponentially more promotion than TNA could ever dream of getting on their own. If Vince ever proposed that all of TNA’s guys and girls job to WWE’s, Dixie would fall all over herself accepting that deal.

          • Loren Goldstein

Yes, I could see Dixie doing that, but I don’t think that it would help TNA in any way. And I just don’t see Vince’s ego letting the guys from TNA look good on his show.

    • Carlos is a dumbass

Why would WWE want to work with TNA? TNA has nothing too offer WWE at this point and WWE gains nothing by doing business with TNA. TNA is barely able to keep their head above water, there’s no profit to be made for the WWE to work with TNA.

      • Robert Olley

Look back at the nineties vince thrives on competition hence why he promoted ecw and even had ecw matches on raw also look at the cm punk dvd roh is promoted on there vince knows that competition is good for business and that sting vs taker is a fans dream match

  • jdl

I’d like the Stinger to have one last go on the top with the biggest company in the business, it would be the perfect way for both he and Taker to go out. Two of the greatest big men the industry has and will ever see.
