Richard wrote that the CM Punk vs. Ryback TLC Match for the WWE Title will no longer happen because of CM Punk’s recent surgery.  The following match has been announced:

  • Ryback and Team Hell No vs. The Shield

Since then, WWE posted an article on their official site which showed a letter from Vince McMahon in response to the match change.  The 6 man tag team match will now be in a TLC Match.  The letter from the chairman is below:

    I’m intrigued by this

  • H.M.

Something different. I for one like it.

  • Joel

They still need a reason to climb the ladders imo… maybe an extra dangerous weapon hanging up there?

Also, The Shield should be very pleased with this turn of events. They have a huge opportunity to wow the crowd in a TLC match and make a name for themselves so soon after their debut.

  • Simon Veitch

As much as I would hate to see The Shield lose their debut match, I really want to see Ryback go nuts and destroy everyone

  • vinny

the main point of a TLC match is to finish with someone climbing a ladder!

    • Patrick_OToole

The point of the Ladder Match is to have someone climb the ladder (which they are having with Cena and Ziggler) the point of the TLC match is to use Tables, Ladders and Chairs.

  • Jason17

Ryback will be in the elimination Chamber along with Punk, Rock, Cena, Miz and Brad Maddox.

  • KingKongBrody

So Ryback is the new Ahmed Johnson how many will he hurt before they get rid of him.

    • Doug

you realize Johnson was Injured more himself then he injureed anyone right?

    • Patrick_OToole

Ryback didn't legitimately hurt Punk, it's a work for a nagging injury Punk has and they want him to be fresh to go against the Rock so they are giving him time to rest.

    • SRP

What makes you think he’s responsible for Punk’s injury? Your answer had better not be ” Because of Vince’s statement”.

    • Frenchfry

Its not his fault, he put Punk through the table the way youre supposed to, but Punks knee was already hurt and it hit down awkwardly when he went through

  • KingKongBrody

    He’s a mess.

  • Daniel T

I thought the rules was that if a champion can’t defend their championship title at a pay-per-view, that they must forfeit the title.

    • Mark

No the rule is, if a champ suffers an injury that will keep him from defending his title for at least 2-3 months, he has to forfeit his title.

    • Kevin

Actually, unless the rule has changed, the champ must defend his title once every 30 days. In the event a performer is legitimately injured and won't be able to go for a few months, the title is take from him and usually a tournament is set up to determine a new champion.

  • Daniel

I honestly… Like this! Let's give 3 fresh heels and 1 semi-fresh face a match with the wrestling/selling ability of Daniel Bryan and the veteran assistance of Kane. This honestly could be a match that can make or break "The Shield"

  • Johnny Lane

I printed this letter out so I could pretend Vince sent it too me personally.
