The Last Of Chris Jericho?, Tyler Reks' Release & The Future Of Hawkins, The Rock's Return To Raw, Austin At Wrestlemania

Shares 0

Do you think we have seen the end of Chris Jericho's career or will he come back in the future?

I feel like Chris Jericho will return to WWE at some point. He has a lot on his plate with another lengthy Fozzy tour and another autobiography scheduled, but by his own admission, we haven't seen the last of Y2J.

Now that Tyler Reks has been granted his release, what will happen to Curt Hawkins?

Curt Hawkins said he's in WWE to stay. He's a talented guy but just hasn't got much of an opportunity yet. While I thought Tyler Reks had potential, I'm not the least bit surprised he requested his release. Leaving the business to spend time at home is admirable but his in-ring career wasn't going anywhere.

Has there been any word on the next time The Rock will appear on Raw?

The Rock is confirmed for Royal Rumble 2013 so it's likely he'll appear on shows leading up to the pay-per-view next January. He wasn't planned to return to WWE until 2013 but they were able to get him to appear on the 1000th episode of Raw.

Is there any truth to Steve Austin returning at Wrestlemania?

The NEWZ sites pumped some rumor about Steve Austin not being ready to return to the ring but it was completely bogus. The truth is WWE wants to do Austin vs. CM Punk at Wrestlemania XXIX next year but nothing has changed in terms of the match going past talk.

Austin vs punk would be a dream match up. And unlike rock and lesner Austin can return for few months leading up to wrestlemania and show up on weekly bases. Austin vs punk, taker vs lesner or lesner vs hhh, rock vs cena most likely. Also hbk could fo one more match that would be pretty epic

    • Jamie

I don't know why Austin V Punk is considered a "dream match up" personally I would love to see Austin V Rock one more time for old times sake.

      • The arbiter

Because its Beer drinking mans man vs Mr Straight edge. Both guys can talk and entertain and as long as Austin isn't rusty they should put on a good show. The promos and stunts these guys would pull in the build up would be highly entertaining, especially if they let Austin cut loose.

Also, Rock vs Austin has been done three time before at Wrestlemania, their story together is done.

  • David

I'm going to be in the minority here. But I hope Austin doesn't return. He'll be 48 years old by the time Wrestlemania roles around, his last match being 10 years ago. And unlike the Rock, who stopped wrestling to go act, he retired because of a neck injury. Besides, some dream matches, should stay like that dream matches. Because the match people want to see if the Austin of the 90s vs. Punk, not the Austin of 2012.

    • Kevin

I agree with you: some dream matches should just stay dreams. I remember the last time a match was touted as a "Dream Match": it was Brock v. Goldberg. And anyone who saw that was sorely disappointed. These 2 big monsters should have totally destroyed each other, yet we got a mundane match with not much mayhem. It's as if they weren't even trying. I realize it was the last match for both (or at least, it was supposed to be), but they still could have given the fans a better send off.

    • Chris

I'm with you. Austin is also recovering from knee surgery at the moment. His time has passed.

Can’t wait to see fozzy next week

  • AnacondaVise

CM Punk can put on a good match with anyone and Austin is well Austin. I think they could put on a hell of a show regardless of Austin's age. The build up for the match would be amazing… I still don't think it's going to happen but my goodness do I want to see it.

    • izblack

CM Punk is very carriable inside the ring, Punk isnt very good at calling matches inside the ring nor is he a good seller but you put him in there with somone better then him like Bryan, Mysterio, Cena, HHH, UT etc etc he’ll have good matches with them b/c they can carry him. Put Punk in there with Del Rio, Sheamus or someone like that and his matches tend too ususally suck

      • AnacondaVise

You have got to be freaking kidding me? Punk doesn't need anyone to carry him, especially someone with average in-ring skills like Cena. To me the only person who I would put above Punk in terms of in-ring performance is Bryan.

      • Autista

        I disagree!
Punk is a quality wrestler, and his body of work proves it!

      • British bulldog

@izblack I think you made an error on your keyboard son, you put cena in your list of so-called ‘better than punk’ wrestlers?? Cena!?! Mr four moves?!?

And punk needs carrying?? Really??? Do you actually know wrestling??

Cena, HHH and most of the ‘superstars’ are entertainers, a select few, ie punk and Bryan, are WRESTLERS!!

Suggest you do some homework buddy, you have alot to learn

      • bejealous

Really? Punk can have a good march with a broomstick, you (Izvlack) clearly don’t appreciate quality wrestling

        • PhilT81

Where’s Chavo Guerrero when you need him?

  • Ricky

Remember Brock vs. Goldberg was a Dream Match at one time and look at what happened with that.

Then again Punk vs. Jericho as well as Cena vs. Rock where dream matches and those where great!

    • Hardy

That’s true but as much as I like Goldberg. Rock and Jericho are far better in ring performers, so their matches are still more entertaining. Where punk and Austin are concerned I can see both sides to the argument, if it happened then I would happily watch it. But the dream match is attitude era Austin not current.

  • Kevin

I don't know that Punk v. Jericho or Cena v. Rock were "Dream Matches". But I definitely agree with you on the Brock v. Goldberg match: it sucked!

  • I want it!

Punk and "Dream Match," just don't go together. I'd rather see the the Viper vs. The Rattlesnake anyway. Now The Peoples Champ vs. The Phenom at Wrestlemania would be a dream come true…Play on the angle from last year that Triple H wasn't the last of the outlaws Taker has to deal with. Place Stone Cold as guest referee and you have the best-selling Wrestlemania of all-time. They should face each other since no one on the WWE deserves to be put over by either.

  • Matt

Austin and Punk would be far superior to Rock vs Cena, just sayin, IMO

  • Captain Booger

Jericho will definitely be back. If his tour obligations with Fozzy are complete in early March, I wouldn't rule out a return around Wrestlemania or shortly thereafter. Perhaps on Raw the night after. This thing with Dolph is in no way over.
