The Outcome Of CM Punk vs. Ryback vs. John Cena At Survivor Series, What WWE Is Planning For TLC Next Month But How They Are Backed Into A Corner, The Rock Willing To Go Under At Wrestlemania?; More On WWE Title Match At Royal Rumble

The creative quandary continues backstage in WWE as we head into Survivor Series on Sunday. We’re told there is a “lot of turmoil” internally over the main event finish on Sunday, what to do at WWE TLC and ultimately whether or not CM Punk heads into Royal Rumble against The Rock with his consecutive days as WWE Champion in tact.

Coming out of this week’s TVs, the plan was to rematch the triple threat of Punk, John Cena and Ryback at TLC next month. As we’ve previously noted, this was set to be next month’s main event but was pushed forward due to concerns over the reaction to the original Survivor Series main event. Vince McMahon is leaning towards Punk retaining at Survivor Series although he would then have to retain at TLC and things get tricky in regards to protecting Ryback, yet having him fail to win the title three months in a row.

There are those in creative pushing for Ryback to win the title on Sunday by pinning Punk and then have Punk win it back at TLC by pinning Cena. With The Rock having been planned for a very long time to end Punk’s reign at the Royal Rumble, it’s been a hard sell to convince Vince to end Punk’s reign early and then have him regain at TLC, but they’re really backed into a corner here by doing the TLC main event at Survivor Series.

A couple of people feel like Vince is worried how Rock would react if Punk lost before Royal Rumble. While he is cool with going under to Cena at Wrestlemania, he has been under he impression he would be the one to stop Punk’s extended reign as WWE Champion.

It would be a good notch in The Rocks belt if that does happen. Then Punk could always do…''It took THE ROCK to end my streak'' in his promos after his storyline with The Rock is over.

Surely he wouldn't have to pin Cena at TLC? Just retrieve the belt

I know they would never do it but i have a way they could get out of this corner there in bring brock lesnar to survivor series have him beat down ryback backstage real bad to were he can't compete at Survivor series and has to take time off. then have cm punk def john cena that takes us to TLC either have cena vs punk again and if cena loses he doesn't get another shot as long as punk is champion or do a punk mick foley match. then at the royal rumble have ryback return challenge brock lesnar at wrestlemania, have the rock beat cm punk for the belt.

Hopefully we will see the New WWE Championship belt if there's a new champions crowned.

Im not sure how many dates are left on lesnars contract but having him come out and f-5 cena costing him the triple threat (and to a degree avenging his loss), and setting up a tag match punk and lesnar against ryback and cena At TLC, would solve their problem of protecting punks title reign. Cena still looks strong because it took lesnar to beat him and Ryback can pin punk at TLC to keep him looking strong.

No way Rock should be the one to end Punk's consecutive days as champion. How does that make the rest of the roster look? IMO it makes them all look pretty weak when a part timer comes in and wins the title in his first match in nearly a year. It would make Cena and Ryback both look very weak since they were the most recent challengers. If The Rock, who isn't even a full time worker, beats Punk for the title on his first chance at it, it would make Cena and Ryback both look extremely weak because they've both had multiple chances and neither of them could beat Punk themselves. There's no way I would put the title on a part-time worker, even if it is The Rock. Why he thinks he deserves a run with it is unbelievable to me. That is unless he was going to get back on the road or at least have his butt at Raw every single week. IMO not giving Rock a run with the title solves a lot of the problems that they are having now. Plus I think it makes the title look unimportant for a part-timer to hold it. This is David Arquette all over again. Except that Rock USED to be a wrestler nearly 10 years ago.

To give Punk a DQ is the only way I see a way out of the hole they dug themselves into.

      Triple threat. No DQ.

I know this isn’t what people wanna hear but I really think Foley should of replaced Cena at HIAC and not Ryback. It would not have hurt too have Punk/Foley at HIAC seeing how its not one of the major PPVs and instead have Ryback in a midcard feud against Wade Barrett or some other upper midcard heel. Then at this SS they should of kept him in a 5 on 5 match. This would of protected Punk, Ryback & Cena by keeping them away from each other.

I would rather see Rock vs Ziggler or Bryan or better yet Lesnar. I hope Punk drops the title and never get it back.

Having Punk lose it to Ryback now only to win it back a month later seems rather pointless to me. Can’t they just have Cena take the pin via a heel tactic. E.g. Have Ryback shell-shock Cena then be thrown to the outside by Punk who could steal the pin.

Yes it’s been done before but maybe if they didn’t go back and forth so much decision and booking wise then they wouldn’t be in situations like this. Whatever happened to long story arcs?

its obvious that the most logical conclusion to WWE's problem of TLC is to have the Rock interfere which prepares him for his return to the Rumble. How they involve him is an entire different story but he HAS to be involved somehow
