The Rock Says He Will Appear At Wrestlemania XXIX Next Year

Shares 0

The Rock announced at today's Wrestlemania XXIX press conference that he will appear at next year's show from MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. This will mark three consecutive Wrestlemania appearances for The Rock who was the guest host of Wrestlemania XXVII last year and of course will main event Wrestlemania XXVIII this year against John Cena.

  • The Breaker

Cool, just take your time announcing any matches this time.

  • Coopapalooza

To be fair I’m not interested unless he makes regular appearances throughout the year. Cena’s promos are spot on.

    • LJCH

Why is that such a bad thing? The Undertaker has been doing the same thing past couple of years. After Wrestlemania, we barely see him until next Wrestlemania…

      • Patrick_Peralta

Undertaker has been around longer then the Rock, he is not off making movies or staying away for allmost 8 or 9 yrs before returning. Undertaker is just healing injurys so it is fine he takes time off.

        • XKonn247

Sorry but no. Rock RETIRED. He is no longer a professional wrestler full time. He’s an actor. He’s taking time away from his actual job to give us one more match! Be grateful for what you’re getting!

    • Booker T

      Dude what are you smoking?

  • mark3man

Hof induction next year then it looks like. Unless taker retires.

    • Dustyn

I think that we may see Mick Foley inducted in 2013. He lives in and is billed from being from NY. Too early too say though.

  • jonathon212

i doubt its to wrestle….hell prob go into the hof next year and he knows that in advance

  • Dirk Mingler

At least he’s not doing one show a year like someone who’s gonna remain nameless *coughs* undertaker *coughs*

    • Logan_Walker

Yes But The Undertaker Is a Much Bigger Legend Than The Rock (19-0) No One In The WWE Has a Bigger Streak Than That Michael Cole has a (1-0) But thats him, he's getting older and there not a lot of WM's Left For him

      • craig

What does that matter? Out of the 19 only about 8 were good. Rank the Taker's top 19 matches in terms of draw and anticipation vs the Rocks and i will let you guess who wins.

        • Logan_Walker

Well Ive Only Started Watching WWE Since The MITB From 2010 So I Can't Really Say That Any Of Them Are "Good" But Undertaker Has A Better Streak Than Rock at WM

  • Kleck

    Keep sucking me in Vince

  • Rich119uk

Haha cenas promos are scripted and he’s just jealous anyway if there is still heat there. The rock did EVERYTHING for the wwe over 8 years so he deserves to appear like this. Get over it.

    • Every wrestler has scripted lines that’s why they call it entertainment. Cena will beat Rock at Mania that’s for real. Wow, u don’t know shit about wrestling!!!!

      • Coopapalooza

Agreed. Cena going over is the only logical outcome. I’ll bet my last buck there’s a handshake after as well.

  • Coopapalooza

I’m a mark for the Rock, not gonna lie. He defined wrestling for me back in the late 90’s early 00’s. That’s why I’d like to see more of him. Even if he cut a promo saying he was gonna be keeping an eye on things this year and making the occasional appearance or run-in. I just wish he would show the fans today what he was all about back then. The guy is a living legend.

I don't care if he returns or not

    • Bault16

      What do you care about?

  • Daniel Robertson.

Undertaker can do it because his character gimmick lets him aswell.

    • Tomas

Yeah he just goes off and dies somewhere for 11 months and then rises again just in time for Mania.

  • Sebastian

Joining the WWE Universe in 2002, I didn’t really get to see much of The Rock’s work, while I saw John Cena rise from the very beginning. This match at MiamiMania really is generation vs generation for me. Love The Rock’s work but he’s a movie star nowadays while Cena IS Pro Wrestling, I’m just hoping for a damn good match!

  • 7028brethart

He is not the Rock any more, he is dwane Johnson the actor, movies are his real love, once Hollywood came calling he answered to his true love. And the undertaker has earned the right to take as much times as he needs off, the man is a legend, the best ever, the most feared ever, the most respected ever, to bad the deadman is on his last legs, i was lucky to see all his career.

  • Maz

If the rock can beat John cena, then he shud issue a challenge to the undertaker for next years WM

  • Dustyn

I think also next year for the HOF it would be pretty safe to say that Donald Trump would be inducted in the celebrity wing. At first I wasn't too fond of WM being outdoors in NJ, but I 'm growing on the idea.

The Undertaker has given over 20 years dedicated service to the WWE. He is a legend who has created a character that has done things and gets crowd reactions that others, even The Rock, can only dream of. He’s worked hard and paid his dues. If that doesn’t earn him the time off to get ready again I don’t know what does.
