The Rock vs. John Cena Bigger Than Rock vs. Hogan?, The Undertaker’s Streak, Kevin Nash Update, Evan Bourne’s WWE Return

How does The Rock vs. John Cena compare to Rock vs. Hollywood Hulk Hogan at Wrestlemania X8 a decade ago?

I actually think The Rock vs. John Cena is a bigger match and has more hype surrounding it than Rock vs. Hogan. Hogan was already out of his prime by the time the Wrestlemania X8 match happened and this isn’t the case with Rock and Cena. Rock is not even 40 yet (Hogan was 48) and can still compete at a very high level. The Rock vs. Cena is unique in that you have one of the biggest stars of the Attitude Era versus the biggest star of today yet the former is still young enough to work at a top level. I’m not saying it’ll be the best Wrestlemania match ever, it might not even be the best match of the night, but I do not recall another bout having as much build and hype as Rock vs. Cena.

I would rather see The Undertaker face a younger worker in a “passing of the torch” at this year’s Wrestlemania XXVIII than another match with Triple H. Who would you like to see elevated to the next level by beating the streak?

The streak should remain intact and The Undertaker has earned the right to retire undefeated at Wrestlemania when he decides to retire. I was against Undertaker vs. Triple H III at first, however, after evaluating the options, I sold myself on it. There isn’t a worker currently on WWE’s roster worth utilizing to end the streak and with Undertaker’s uncertain health, it doesn’t benefit a younger worker to go under either. Therefore Undertaker versus Hunter with the Hell in a Cell gimmick provides an avenue for an entertaining match and a loss would not hurt Triple H. I do not know the outcome of the bout but I would be completely against an Undertaker loss at Wrestlemania XXVIII.

What happened to Kevin Nash? Why did he slowly fade out?

Kevin Nash is signed under a WWE Legend’s Contract, not a Performer’s Contract. There were never plans for Nash to return as a full-time performer. He’s under contract if WWE needs him for a future angle.

Any update on what’s in store for Evan Bourne? I just saw the video WWE posted two weeks ago and at the end he mentions going for the U.S. Title. Thoughts?

The video was the first good sign I’ve seen for Evan Bourne since his second Wellness Policy violation was announced on January 17, 2012. I heard Bourne would likely get cut from his WWE contract on the next round of releases and there hasn’t been a whole lot to change that position with him being edited out of the  Raw Supershow opening video. With that being said something may have changed as he is eligible to return from suspension in a couple weeks.

Bourne is still featured doing the Shooting Star Press on the WWE Open, isn't he?

    • haley

they still have it but wwe might replace him with edge or someone else if he ends up getting released

      • WWE NERD

I hope it doesn't happen,I want Evan Bourne to be part of the WWE roster.

    • Joe

He’s in the WWE opening doing it but got edited out of the Monday Night Raw opening. Know what I mean with the differences?

  • Logan_Walker

    No i dont think so

  • David

I think if anyone ended "the streak" now they could end up getting X-Pac Heat.

  • thatguy

every time you answer that question with that dumb answer i will always say, that a younger working losing to taker would NOT be a bad thing for them. Again ZIGGLER would be perfect. he is going to be the next biggest star in the company with him and taker putting on a killer match would take him to new levels. EVEN if he loses. Just like everyone else who has lost to him that got pushed to a new level. Stop being so closed minded thinking only triple H is the only person for the job.

So yea again Ziggler. They could easily set up the story that he is "just that damn good" to be the one to end the streak for taker.

Love Ziggler and his work but to put him over The Undertaker would be high risk with a low reward. Ziggler can still be built as a credible main eventer without taking out Undertaker but he's hardly proven he's worthy of going over Undertaker at Wrestlemania. He hasn't proved to be a major draw and really the only names you could build somewhat of a credible argument would be Chris Jericho or CM Punk. Even then, I don't see one of them ending the streak.

      • mchale138

I disagree, I think Ziggler would have been perfect. His showoff gimmick would be a great intro to…he brags about how good he is…challenges taker to the match and loses…like everyone else but if he was made to look competitive in the match, like he might win…some really close pin falls just like with HHH last year he wouldn't suffer from the lose. He could still brag about it afterwards that he may not have won. but he got further than any current wrestler has.

        • wnwdotcom2

Just because he has a gimmick that works doesn't make him a viable candidate. There's no evidence that Dolph Ziggler is ever going to be a big enough superstar to be the guy to take out the guy who took out Shawn Michaels.

Would you be all for a Cena/Taker wrestlemania match if Taker is still around?

  • ol skewl fan

honestly there is only one man I can think of that would be credible ending the streak, and that would be Brock Lesnar. Although he should NEVER be awarded that rub, under any circumstance.

Am I the only 1 that was wondering about the 1st question. Richard thank u 4 answering my question always appreciated

Rock vs Cena = attitude Era vs PG Era

  • Bruce

wHAT EXctly is a legends contract-means ya get paid for just standing around!?!? ooops maybe this should be a question for ask wnw

  • WWE NERD

I hope HHH actually gets injured before WrestleMania28,so this year Taker could face Cena, and then if Taker's still around maybe next year,he could face his half brother Kane? And then that would be a great time to end his career, and the streak will still live=22-0!!I hope his streak lives, because he sure does deserve to be undefeated at WrestleMania, some guys can't face him, because some of them are afraid of him, also they might be afraid of Kane, who knows?Oh wait I know god knows!!HA HA HA!!!

    • Amsterdam

      *couch cough*mark*cough cough*

    • joshwrestler

Wow where to begin? Have you even been watching WWE This past year? Cena is facing the rock. And another thing when the Undertaker wins he will just now be 20-0 so please tell me the math you did to figure out that next year he would be 22-0?

    • mikey

what a dumb comment you made.

  • Jaryd

You can't have Ziggler go over Undertaker, there are so many ways to get a guy over as a top star, hell Ziggler seems to be very much walking the path towards it as it is. My main point is this, WWE release a DVD on the streak, what do you think would be a better marketing title "Undertaker 20-0 (or 21 or however long he can defy time and age for) or "Undertaker 19-1"? In my opinion you end the streak, you end the majority of the market value the streak has, and then youre putting UNBELIEVABLE NECK BREAKING PRESSUREon a guy who's not yet fully established to become the next Rock or Austin and make back all the money and then some that the company lost on ending the streak.

  • Jaryd

I think Rock vs Cena will be match of the night but not on a pure work basis. It will probably be much like Flair and HBK in Naitch's "retirement" match where the work is very good but not 5 star, (Edge vs Undertaker that night was the best in my opinion) but the pure emotion of it will cause it to be match of the night by a country mile.

  • Dan the Man

Rock vs Cena may get more buildup than Rock vs Hogan but it will not be rememebered as the classic that rock vs hogan was..not even close. You can hate Hogan all you want but that match will by far be remembered more than Cena/Rock. Be honest please
