The Rock grabbed all kinds of media attention when he told members of the Australian Press that learning of his role in “G.I. Joe: Retaliation” was like getting a phone call from George Lucas for a role in Star Wars.

“I played with two lines of action figures when I was a kid: G.I. Joe and Star Wars. Rock said.

“I’m gonna call J.J. and you’re gonna help by printing it and I’m gonna be in Star Wars!” the wrestler-turned-actor declared.

WWE has even picked up on the comments and is helping Rock here on dot com.

    Honestly, this could help save Star Wars VII from potential disaster. Dwayne may yet have what it takes to have a role as a Star Wars character. After all, aside from Billy Dee Williams and Samuel L. (motherf***ing) Jackson (and maybe James Earl Jones, if you count him even though he was only voice), there really are no black characters in the Star Wars franchise. Let’s see Rocky in Star Wars VII, and let’s have him work as a heel–er, Sith!

    I’ll probably get some down votes for this, but I seriously don’t want this to happen. I thought the new Star War’s were going to be rubbish until I heard all the recent news. IN MY OPINION, Rock isn’t good enough to be in such a massive franchise. I just don’t think he is that good an actor. That said,Hayden Christensen wasn’t the best either.
