The Main Reason TNA Is Fighting Ric Flair & Other Talents From Going To WWE Through The Brian Wittenstein Lawsuit, How The Litigation Has Resulted In WWE Blackballing A Lot Of Former TNA Stars That Haven't Worked There In Years, Current Stars Upset, TNA Making Steep Pay Cuts

To follow-up on the power struggle in TNA Wrestling that has Janice Carter threatening to pull the plug on the entire company, I'm told one of the reasons TNA is fighting WWE over Ric Flair and a few others with the Brian Wittenstein lawsuit is because they are trying to prove to potential investors their roster is not only of value but WWE won't be able to just come along and pluck from it.

The litigation has created an interesting consequence as TNA is trying to cut everyone's pay whose contract is up for renegotiation and if a worker doesn't want to re-sign, they have no where to work. Not only is WWE not signing anyone from TNA because of the lawsuit but they are telling people who have worked for TNA in the past but haven't worked there at all in the last year or two that if you've worked for TNA at any point while Wittenstien was there (which was a while), WWE won't touch you until the lawsuit is over.

So there are a lot of workers completely irate that there's a hiring freeze on one end with TNA on the other side trying to make steep pay cuts across the board wherever possible.

        Did I hit a nerve?

I am pretty sure the WWE will not hesitate to sign Flair when his no compete is up. If it was 90 days, that should put it around August 21st if I am correct.

    • smithmiester

They can’t sign him up after his 90 days are over. Invade you haven’t been paying attention to what you should have been reading above there is a lawsuit going on where they can’t sign any TNA talet until its over.

No that guy is just an unintelligent pussy.

I wonder if Vince is looking into contacting Janiice out of curiosity. Im just waiting to see he headlines reading ''Vince buys TNA''

That would be the easy way around it, just buy them and keep who you like/want, sell the rest off to ROH to help build a competitive opposition.

this is getting stupid I don't blame the talent for being upset. While working Indys or going to Japan is a option clearly both WWE and TNA you can make the most money…as for TNA cutting down their pay I can understand the need…but keeping them from working somewhere else is not a smart idea even if it is WWE.

Bottom line they have a right to work.. I dont think this will help TNA if the Talent choses not to return in the future.

wow…that sucks. I know lawsuits can carry on for eons, but is there really any end in sight for this, Richard?

TNA is a no win situation. WWE has that much Money they could buy there way out of that lawsuit & you gotta wonder if TNA are only doing this also for a settlement. So TNA get money

    It’s a dirty business

Sounds like TNA pulling a Vince with theie contracts, but it’s smart on their part.

Could the people being held back sue TNA for hindering them from advancing in their career or something? Along the lines of Brock suing WWE over his 10 year non-compete a while back?

I follow a lot of wrestling fans on Twitter and I still can’t believe how they describe TNA. They say it is filled with washed up hasbeens. I mean, there are older stars there from WWE, but they have no idea about Roode, Storm, Aries, Joe, Styles. They go with the majority and that is to insult TNA’s programming. IF they actually watch and improve the ratings, TNA will make more. If they go to their shows and buy merchandise, TNA will make more. The stars won’t have to take a pay cut then.

It’s funny that I read people writing that they want Flair in WWE but they insulted him and TNA when he was with them.

    • StephenSnel23

The reason why they insulted him was because of him still wrestling at his age with all the other has beens that were there. Also WWE won’t use him as a wrestler because they see he has more value as a manager. TNA soured in a lot of people’s mouths when they had years of horrible booking, case in point TNA using wrestlers way past there primes and not using younger talent as much. Now even tho they are doing a better job, fans have already given up on them. They dug themselves into this hole and I can’t see them digging themselves out.

So wouldn't this potentially stop any new talent from wanting to sign with TNA? Knowing that if they do, their pay will be cut and they won't be able to progress to WWE at any point in time due to the law suit. I can understand it locks current talent in for the foreseeable future, but if i was coming up and was even considering TNA as an option I wouldn't now because it's as good as shooting yourself in the leg
