Second Report: TNA House Show Results (8/08/09) - Baton Rogue, Louisiana
Written by Byron on Aug 9, 2009 - 11:06:58 AM
Wrestling News World reader Byron sent in the following report:
The floor, 100, and half of the 200 sections are full as JB welcomed the audience to TNA
Suicide vs. Shark Boy
- Suicide comes through the crowd while Shark Boy comes outdoing his SCSA impression. Suicide was over throughout the match; while Sharky got jeered as he stalled a lot during the match, which I think is because he has developed a noticeable gut. Suicide hit his finisher and won by pin fall. After the match Suicide held his hand out for Sharky to shake it and he did, Sharky then called for two bottles of water for a toast, but Suicide through it to the floor which led to Sharky giving him a Stunner and trash talking like Austin. (I have no pictures as the camera was in the car :p)
Creed vs. Daniels vs. Homicide for the X Division Title
- All three men made their entrances. Creed came out to boos, Daniels had a mixed reaction and Homicide was over. This match was fast paced and had some nice spots such as Daniels doing the BME on both men and applying a Boston Crab to Homicide and Camel Clutch to Cree at the same time. Creed also hit Daniels with one of the stiffest step up enziguris (stepped up off Homicide) that I have ever seen. The finish came when Homicide tried to hit the Cop Killer on Daniels, but Daniels countered into the Angel Wings, which Homicide countered back into a Cutter for the W. (Have pics)
Awesome Kong and Raisha Saeed vs. The Beautiful People w/o Madison
- The Beautiful People (girls are ho as Hell) came out to the second biggest pop of the night and did their normal routine. Kong and Raishea came out to heat. Kong is a sight to see that amazes you like Big Show or Khali up close. Angelina started the match off after kissing Velvet to a bunch of cheers with Kong. She played a chicken Shit with Kong so Velvet got in the ring and stuck and move to play up that Kong couldn’t up with her speed which made Kong tag in Raisha. The Beautiful People took turns dominating her and cut off the ring until she made the hot tag to Kong who cleaned house and one with the Implant Buster on Angelina. After the math Velvet grabbed a mic and said that she blamed this loss on all of us and that her and Angelina would never come back to this city again. That in turn made the crowd turn on them and boo them out the arena.
Eric Young vs. Hernandez
- EY came to the ring and cut a heel promo saying that the further south you go in the USA, the stupider the people. Hernandez came out to a nice reaction and went around high fiving the fans. The action between these two was well paced and had more of an old school feel with EY working the neck. Hernadez’s agility is amazing for a big guy, and he won the match with The Alpha bomb that Monty brown used to do (looks like a fall away but tosses WY on his neck and powerbombs him
An intermission was held and JB called everyone who had been handed a backstage pass to form a line to meet the men and women of TNA. He also tried to judge which side of the arena was the loudest.
Beer Money vs. World Elite
- Beer Money was the most over act of the night bar none, and they didn’t disappoint as they had the match of the night. They came out in LSU jerseys as well as with the local WAFB sports girl. Before the match they instructed the three sections of the crowd to chant Lets Go(1) Beer(2) Money(3). Bashir got the same heat and USA chants that he used to get whenever he came to town as part of WWE. The match spilled into the audience with Kiyoshi and Rude brawling on one side of the arena and Bashir and Storm on the other side. The funny part came when Bashir was running towards what would be the arena’s entrance doors and out of nowhere he got cut off by BG James doing his old Jap Sequence and got a Road Dogg chant from the nearby section. The action then went back to the ring where Beer Money went through their tandem offense on both members of World Elite and pinned Kioshi with a powerbomb and neckbreaker combo. The two celebrated in the ring with the local WAFB girl, put on their LSU jerseys, and called for a kid in the crowd to pose with them as he had a Beer Money sign. (Batteries went dead half way through)
AJ Styles vs. Samoa Joe w/ Foley as the surprise enforcer
- Foley came out to a nice amount of Foley and Socko chants with some boos. AJ Styles came out to the third biggest reaction of the night, but his ovation grew as the match progressed. Samoa Joe came out to boos while doing the Mafia hand symbol. At one point the fans began to chant Sloppy Joe at him during his introduction prompting him to give the crowd the old FU gesture. I have been one Joe’s critics about his shape in the past, but even though he is plumper and slower speed wise he still pulls off his moves with quickness and accuracy (beautiful powerslam). These two men went back and forward, and at one point AJ took a nasty head first bump on the apron when Joe swept his legs from underneath him. The finish of the match came as followed: AJ tried for the Clash, but Joe picked him up and placed him on the turnbuckle for the Muscle Buster, but AJ kicked him back, turned around a landed a reverse DDT off the top rope. Joe kicked out and went for the Clutch, but AJ wiggled free and hit the Pele for the win. Foley did much of nothing in the match. AJ posed with the crowd and got a standing ovation as he turned around a looked back at the crowd before the TNA entrance.
JB got in the ring and said that he wanted to thank the fans for coming out and being such a great audience. He then said that this may have been their first time in Baton Rouge, but it won’t be their last and said that the next time they should hold a ppv here. Foley got in the ring and agreed with him only for the World Elite to come out and EY to grab a mic and say that he and his group were screwed tonight and were a victim of ignorant American referees. Foley fought all three men off, and challenged them to a 2 on 3 match with JB as his partner. World Elite just walked away as the fans chanted JB, JB, JB. JB then said he wanted to thank us by having a party. Hernandez, AJ, Suicide, Shark Boy, Homicide, Creed, Beer Money, and the Beatiful People signed autographs and posed for pics with fans by ringside while Foley invited fans in the 6 sided ring to take a pic with him for $20.
