Last night I went to the TNA house show at Umass. It was snowing pretty hard so that could have affected the attendance which was about 800 in a 10,000 seat arena. But all in all it was a really fun show.
Match #1: X-Division Champion Amazing Red vs Suicide: Pretty decent opener but it could have been better. About mid match Red botched a dive to the outside, it looked really okward. The end saw Red get out of the Suicide Soultion and it a really sloppy Code Red for the 3 count.
Match #2:Awesome Kong and Hamada vs Beautiful People (without Lacy): At the begining the Beautiful People refused to get in the ring but eventually Madison did and she got squashed. Amazingly enough, this wasn't a total squash match, the Beautiful People got a lot of offence. The finish saw Kong take out Velvet and Hamada with a close line. Then Kong went to the top but before Kong could jump Velvet pinned Hamada. After the match. Kong attaked Hamada.
Match #3:Matt Morgan vs Sheik Abdul Bashir: Sheik got a ton of heat and really got a ton of USA chants against him. Sheik refused to get in the ring but once he did he started working on Morgan's knee. But eventually Morgan got momentum and hit the Carbon Footprint for the win.
Match #4:Kurt Angle vs Desmond Wolfe: Angle got a really good pop and he looked happy to be there. For some of the match Wolfe worked over Angle's left arm. Angle tried to lock in the Anlge lock a couple times but it got reversed. The finish saw Angle hit a splash on Wolfe and then hit the Angle Slam for 3. Imtermission
Match #5: Dr Stevie vs Abyss: Dr Stevie came out and cut a promo saying he would beat Abyss in record time. Abysse hit a Black hole Slam for the win for a 3 count. Appartenly Stevie's shoulder actually was up so the match was restarted and Abyss pinned Stevie after a second black hole slam in less than 10 seconds.
Match #6:Beer Money vs Briitsh Invasion: The brits came out and said they were not gonna treat the crowd to a title match but eould treat the crowed to them singing the Brithish national anthem which got inturrupted by Beer Money (who were inslanley over). At one point in the matc the had Williams in a tree of woe and Magnus was down and had his legs on either side on Williams' head. So they sild to the outside and banged his legs angainst Doug's crotch the Wiliams fell on Magnus so his croth was on Doug's head and Doug's crotch landed on Brutus' head, it was hilarious, most entertainer match of the night. Beer money hit the DWI for the win.
Match #7:World Champion AJ Styles vs Daniels: The match started with Daniels having a headlock on AJ for the first 7 minutes. High points include a slingshot crossbody by AJ out of the ring onto Daniels. The finish saw AJ roll out of a BME and hit a pele and Styles Clash for the win. After the match AJ thanked everyone for coming out and announced the post-event autograph session.
