Written by Richard Trionfo (PWInsider.com) on Jan 24, 2007 - 11:58:47 PM
Total Nonstop Action moves one week closer to the Against All Odds pay per view when we will see if Christian Cage will be able to defend the NWA World Heavyweight Title against Kurt Angle on the anniversary of his first NWA World Title victory. What will Kurt Angle do this week to try to find out the man from his past that Christian was talking about? Will we find out any more clues about this person? What will happen when Rhino squares off against Raven? What is next for Eric Young as he tries to help his ‘friend’ deal with Traci Brooks? What is next for Samoa Joe? Will Sting reveal Abyss’s secret to the world and if he does, what will Abyss do about it?
We start off tonight’s show with a shot of City Hall, where we are told that Sting was looking at the public records to find out about Abyss’s past. We see footage from last week where Christian tells Kurt Angle about his consultant and Angle’s attempts to find out. We also see Kurt Angle and Samoa Joe being separated in the ring. We also see what happened between Sting, Jim Mitchell, and Abyss.
We are live on tape from Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida and your announcers are Mike ‘TNA’ Tenay and Don ‘you have got to be kidding me’ West.
Samoa Joe comes to the ring to address the Impact Zone. We see footage from last week when Joe made the save for Kurt Angle when Christian Cage and Tomko were attacking Christian. Joe addresses Kurt Angle and the questions that he has for Joe. It appears that the fans have one burning question. That is why would Samoa Joe help Kurt Angle. He says that he wants to make it perfectly clear. He would not help Kurt Angle if his car was stuck on train tracks and the train was three seconds away from hitting him. He would not spit on Kurt Angle if he was on fire. Even at Final Resolution, Angle did not beat him, Joe just ran out of time. Now he has all of the time in the world. He has now made it his mission and cause to get Kurt Angle a fair heavyweight title shot. That is why he is the unofficial guest ring enforcer at Against All Odds. He says that everyone knows that in a one-on-one match without Christian’s monkey, Tomko, Angle would destroy Christian. Joe says that he wants this to happen. The next time they meet, it will not be for pride, but it will be for the NWA World Heavyweight Championship.
Kurt Angle comes out and he has a mic as he comes to the ring. Angle says that when they met at Final Resolution, he thought it was over between them. Angle says that is what he gets when he assumes. He does not have a problem with Joe wanting to fight him; he has a problem with the way that Joe is going about it. Christian Cage came out last week and he has a consultant who hates him to train Christian to beat him at Against All Odds. Angle points out that Christian said that it was someone who hates Angle and someone that he pissed off. Angle also mentions that Christian was going to give him a clue. At the end of the evening last week, all Angle saw was Samoa Joe and a chair in the ring. Angle says that he does not need to get hit by a chair to ‘get it’ so if Joe wants to train Christian Cage, he does not have a problem with it. He tells Joe that if he gets too close in the match at Against All Odds, he will snap off Joe’s ankle.
Joe interrupts Angle and tells him that he has never been a liar. Joe says that he will be Angle’s best friend at Against All Odds. The next time they meet, it will be for the NWA World Heavyweight Championship.
Christian Cage comes out with Tomko and Christian has a mic. Christian says that Angle thinks he has it figured out, but Samoa Joe is not his consultant. The truth of the matter is that Samoa Joe is not good enough to consult him on anything. Christian says that he has a reputation for being a liar. He says that he is so damn good at lying that he does not know when he is doing it. Before the end of the night, he will give Angle a second hint. This person is someone who has been close to Angle, and maybe closer than Angle thinks.
We return to the ring and Joe and Angle exchange punches, but security comes to the ring to separate both men. Christian sends Tomko to the announce table.
Don and Mike talk about Christian’s match against Christopher Daniels tonight. They also discuss Rhino’s match against Raven and Sting revealing Abyss’s secret. Tomko tells Don and Mike because Christian Cage says that there are going to be wholesale changes, and it might start with the announce team.
We go to the back where Jeremy Borash is with Abyss and James Mitchell. Jeremy brings up the beating that James Mitchell received at the hands of Sting last week and he mentions that he is surprised that James Mitchell is here this week. Mitchell says that Jeremy should be surprised, but Sting committed the crimes of aggravated assault and battery as well as kidnapping and he did them on camera. Mitchell suggests that Sting might want to go to prison to be one of those prisoners who like to get traded out for cigarettes. Mitchell suggests that they meet in the prison yard for Against All Odds. Mitchell addresses Abyss’s secret. He will extend a courtesy that Sting does not deserve. Mitchell gives Sting some advice. It is one thing to piss him off, but it is another thing all together to lance the puss infected boil that is Abyss’s past. There are some things that are better left and buried in the ground. Sting thinks that by revealing the secret, he is giving Abyss a key to the Kingdom of Heaven. He tells Sting to not be surprised when his very words tonight ignite Heaven on Fire. We go to commercial.
We are back and we go to footage from earlier today when Jim Cornette laid down the law to Serotonin and Raven. Cornette says that he does not understand their lifestyle or mindset, and he definitely does not understand their motivational policy. He does understand that they are employed as wrestlers, not as the heads of some S&M parlor and not to dress up like the cast of Scary Movie 7. They are paid and it is time for them to earn their money. Cornette does not care if Raven beats these guys, cane them, or blow them up with dynamite. He tells Raven that he will be facing Rhino tonight.
We see footage from last week of Rhino coming to the ring to go after A.J. Styles while Styles, Christian, and Tomko were attacking Kurt Angle.
Match Number One: Rhino versus Raven
The members of Serotonin come out first with Johnny Devine hitting the ring first. Rhino punches Devine. Frankie Kazarian hits the ring next and he hits the mat after a back elbow from Rhino. Matt Bentley is the final man to enter the ring and Rhino with a running forearm. Rhino with a GORE to Devine and then he throws Kazarian over the top rope to the floor. Rhino with a GORE to Bentley. Raven finally enters the ring and he hits Rhino with the cane. He takes off the mask, and it is not Raven, but A.J. Styles in Raven’s suit. Styles hits Rhino in the back of the head with the kendo stick. Styles gets a steel chair from ringside and he brings it into the ring. Styles hits Rhino in the head with the steel chair. A.J. punches Rhino in the forehead as security and referees come into the ring to check on Rhino.
We go to the television truck where Christian Cage appears to be running the show. Christian wants to know how many cameras they have. They tell him that they have nine cameras and Christian says that they will probably need 3 ½ more to be focused on him. Christian says that everyone better be on the same page or heads will roll. We go to commercial.
We are back with a graphic that reads that coming soon we will see Ron Killings in ‘A Few Good Black Men’.
We go to the latest Paparazzi Production with Jeremy Borash and Eric Young on the road. Eric wants to know why they need Alex with them, and Alex says that he needs to have his first time taped. They enter a convenience store and Eric does not want to go in because he does not want anyone to see them. Jeremy assures Eric that it is four in the morning and nobody will see them. Eric and Jeremy discuss Eric’s impending purchase. James Storm, Miss Tennessee, and some of their partying friends enter the store and they see Eric in the aisle and Storm comments on Young’s purchase. Storm comments on the fact that two guys are out at four in the morning to buy rubbers. Slick Johnson walks by and comments on the size. They go to pay and Eric has also purchased some Cheese Nips. The clerk wants a price check. Storm tells Eric and Jeremy to have a good time. Eric says that this has been the most embarrassing moment in his life.
We go to an office where Robert Roode and Ms. Brooks are watching with Letisha. She says that she is going to seal the deal. Roode tells her that she has until next week to get that contract signed. Roode leaves and Ms. Brooks calls Letisha a harlot and then comments that she knows that Letisha wants her.

BG is interrupted by Kip, who has placed the tape on BG’s mouth. Kip says that he is here to set the record straight and he says that he is not politically correct. BG leaves the interview and Kip wants to know where he is going. We go to commercial.
