Written by Richard Trionfo (PWInsider.com) on Mar 8, 2007 - 11:48:19 PM
This weekend is the Destination X pay per view and it will feature the first time that we will see the Elevation X Match where A.J. Styles will face Rhino twenty feet above the floor of the Impact Zone. Will we see Christian Cage and Samoa Joe meet each other face-to-face before their match at the pay per view? What about Scott Steiner and Kurt Angle? What new matches will be announced for the pay per view? What is the next step for Team 3D and the Latin American Exchange as they appear to be headed for another match? Will we hear from either participant in the X Division title match?
We start off with a look at last week when Scott Steiner was attacked by Kurt Angle before his match against Chase Stevens. We then see Kurt Angle go after Jim Cornette and get removed from the Impact Zone. We then go to Abyss attacking a cameraman and photographer only to be stopped by Samoa Joe. When then go to Tomko defeating Samoa Joe thanks to interference from Christian Cage. We see Abyss come out to help Samoa Joe only to give Joe the Black Hole Slam.
We are live on tape from Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida and your announcers are Mike ‘TNA’ Tenay and Don ‘you have got to be kidding me’ West.
Kurt Angle and Samoa Joe are in the ring and Angle is on the mic. Angle says that Destination X is a few days away, but it feels like an eternity. Angle tells Cornette that he can throw him out of the building every night, but at Destination X, Steiner’s ass is his. Angle tells Christian that while he might not be on Samoa Joe’s Christmas card list, he has enough respect to face Joe head-on. Angle says that there will be no going through the back door because they are on the same page. At Destination X, Kurt Angle will be Samoa Joe’s biggest fan. After Joe kicks Christian’s ass and wins the World Title, then they will be able to settle their unresolved issues. Angle tells Christian and Steiner to make it easy for them and come to the ring so he and Joe can do what they need to do.
Christian Cage, Scott Steiner, and Tomko come out of the Chute of Heelish Impact and stop of the Ramp of Heelish Impact. Christian is on the mic and he says that what Angle and Joe do not understand from their on again and off again love affair is that the three of them are a family. They are inseparable, a machine, a unit, they are the Christian Coalition. He says that they have no problem coming down and beating their ass tonight, but they will do it as a family. Christian tells Joe and Angle to find a tag team partner so he does not have to hear any whining and crying and say that the odds are stacked against them. He says that they will meet in the ring later tonight.
Angle gets on the mic again and he says that if Christian wants warfare and have them find another tag team partner. He has someone in mind who everyone would say is a little bit crazy. Angle says that Christian will have to wait until later tonight to find out who it is.
Match Number One: Voodoo Kin Mafia (BG James and Kip James) and Lance Hoyt versus Serotonin (Johnny ‘Havoc’ Devine, Frankie ‘Kaz’ Kazarian, and Matt ‘Martyr’ Bentley)
All six men face off in the ring with Devine and BG fighting outside as well as Hoyt and Kazarian after Hoyt sends Kazarian out of the ring. Bentley and Kip fight in the ring and Kip with a shoulder tackle, but Bentley responds with a clip to the knee. On the floor, Devine hits BG in the midsection with the kendo stick. Bentley works on Kip’s leg and then Kazarian is tagged in and he hits a leg drop on Kip’s injured leg. Kazarian continues to work on Kip’s leg and knee. Kip punches Kazarian and then he hits a TKO and both men are down. Devine and Hoyt tag in and Hoyt hits a big boot on Devine followed by one to Bentley. Hoyt tosses Kazarian over the top rope to the floor. Hoyt with the Texas Tornado for the three count on Devine.
Winners: Voodoo Kin Mafia and Lance Hoyt
After the match, Raven comes out and he comes to the ring to beat the loss out of his men. Raven tells Devine to assume the position. Then he tells Bentley and Kazarian to do the same. Raven hits Devine in the back with the cane and then he does the same to Bentley. Before he can hit Kazarian, Frankie gets up and gets in Raven’s face. Raven tells Frankie to get down and then he accepts his caning.
Jeremy Borash is in the interview area with Christian Cage, Scott Steiner, and Tomko. Christian is not in a good mood and he tells Jeremy to shut up. Christian tells Tomko to explain to him whose idea it was for Angle and Joe to get a tag team partner tonight. Tomko says that it was Christian’s idea. Christian wants to know why Tomko is pointing fingers in a time of crisis. Christian asks Steiner who their tag partner is going to be and Steiner says that he is not Quasimodo and he cannot read the future. He does not care because he wants Angle. Christian suggests that Steiner meant Nostradamus, not the Hunchback of Notre Dame. Christian says that he knows who their partner is and says that it will be Abyss. Steiner asks Christian if he is on crack because Abyss just threw Joe on his head. Christian says that Abyss and Joe are trying to work them, just like they have been working everybody else. Christian says that they need to find Abyss and talk to him. Steiner says that he does not want to have to deal with anyone else because he wants Angle. Steiner leaves the interview area. Christian tells Tomko that he is going to go with him to talk to Abyss, but Tomko says that he will go with Christian to talk to Abyss as soon as he gets a title shot and Tomko leaves. Christian tells Jeremy that leaves them so Borash is going to go with him to see Abyss. Jeremy tells Christian that he has to go to the ring. Christian tells Borash that he will be waiting for him at the curtain. We go to commercial.
We are back with a video package for the Elevation X Match with A.J.’s comments about the match. We also hear Rhino’s comments.
Mike Tenay is in the ring with So Cal Val, Leticia, and Jeremy Borash; and Mike welcomes us back. He introduces a man who is part of one of wrestling’s most famous families. He is a man who is part of the Guerrero wrestling dynasty. He is the newest member of the TNA family as a member of the front office and Spanish Announce Team. Mike introduces Hector Guerrero. Hector comes to the ring and Mike welcomes him to the TNA family. Hector gets on the mic and he says that he is humbled by the introduction. He says that it is a privilege to be there and he addresses the Hispanic fans and speaks to them in Spanish. Mike presents Hector with a plaque from the TNA Hispanic Legacy Foundation. Abyss interrupts the ceremony and he comes to the ring. Abyss looks at Hector Guerrero and Mike Tenay, but then he sets his sights on So Cal Val. Abyss takes the plaque from Val and then he throws it down and he gives So Cal Val the Black Hole Slam. We go to commercial with a video package for the Samoa Joe/Christian Cage match for the NWA World Title.
We are back and we take a look back at the Black Hole Slam on So Cal Val.
We go to Jim Cornette’s office and James Storm, Jackie Moore, Chris Sabin (in his bathrobe with his walker), and Bob Backlund are trying to talk to Cornette. Jim tells them to stop. Cornette tells Storm and Jackie if they want Petey Williams and Gail Kim so bad, they will get them in a double bullrope match. Cornette wants to know what Chris Sabin’s issues are. If he thinks Jerry Lynn is so old, he will face Lynn in a two-out-of-three falls match. Cornette says that Bob Backlund cannot referee the match between Senshi and Austin Starr, but the only way to win the match is with the crossface chicken wing. When Backlund leaves, we see Christy Hemme sitting quietly in the corner. Cornette wants to know what she wants. Christy says that she wants a match against VKM. Cornette wants to know if Christy wants to wrestle both members of VKM, but Christy says that she wants a match for her team. Cornette wants to know who this team is, but Christy says that this team is a surprise just like the surprise that Cornette had for her at Against All Odds. Cornette says that Christy is not going to put one over her.
Match Number Two: James Storm (with Jackie Moore), Robert Roode (with Traci Brooks), and Eric Young versus Jay Lethal, Petey Williams, and Sonjay Dutt
Before the match begins, Sonjay gets on the mic and he tells Jay Lethal that everyone wants ‘see it.’ Lethal does his Randy Savage impression and Robert Roode pushes Eric Young for wanting to see the impression.
Roode attacks Lethal from behind before the bell and then he kicks Lethal and tags in Young. Young refuses to attack Lethal and he shakes Lethal’s hand. Roode comes in and he slaps Young. Young wants to punch Roode, but he refuses and tags in Storm. Lethal with a hip toss and cartwheel into a drop kick to Storm before tagging in Williams. Winners: Eric Young, Robert Roode, and James Storm
We go to the back where Jeremy Borash is with Christian Cage. Christian approaches Abyss and he says that he comes in peace to have a chit chat. Christian asks Abyss if he is holding a photo of James Mitchell and then he says that he knows what it is like to lose a father. Then he says that he really does not know, but he hears that it is pretty bad. Christian says that he knows who you can and cannot trust. Christian reminds Abyss that he knew about the secret but he never told anyone. He points out that it was Sting, and the mention of Sting’s name gets Abyss riled up. Abyss backs Christian against the fence. Christian says that Kurt Angle and Samoa Joe are just like Kurt Angle. They all view him as a piece of meat. Christian says that Abyss is a somebody, and maybe a friend. He says that if Abyss is looking for a family, maybe he can help. Christian says that he brought a peace offering for Abyss and he grabs Jeremy Borash so he can get out of there. Abyss grabs Borash and hold him against the fence. Abyss puts Jeremy in the cage from the Prison Yard Brawl and we go to commercial.
We are back with footage from last week’s Paparazzi Production of Massacre in Nueva York as well as Brother Ray’s comments to Alex Shelley. We see the attack on Brother Ray including the choke slam through the table. We go to comments from Brother Devon where he says that everything goes, including weapons.
