Winners and still TNA Tag Team Champions, Team 3D

Backstage:

We go to the back where Jeremy Borash tells us about the hot gossip involving TNA including Brock Lesnar versus Kurt Angle. As Jeremy talks about TNA Mobile, there is some moaning in the background and the camera pans over to Lance Hoyt and Christy Hemme. Jeremy wants to get a word from them but Christy calls Jeremy a perv. Hoyt tells Christy to let Jeremy watch so he can learn something unlike BG and Kip who thought they were teaching Lance something, but Lance says that he was under the covers of Christy Hemme the whole time. He says that Christy was the teacher and he was the student. Lance says that he has everything. He has the future, the fiery redhead, and he has the set to do it all. He tells the VKM to live with it. Christy and Lance leave and Jeremy turns around into Samoa Joe. Joe takes the mic and he congratulates Team 3D because they became two latest pieces in his puzzle and the two latest victims in his struggle. This started a long time ago when he won back his X Division championship. Last week, he pimp slapped Kurt Angle to define the bounds of their relationship. He says that he pulls the strings and Angle is his puppet. Joe says that at Victory Road, Angle will be the good puppet to help him win the tag team belts so he can have all of the gold except for one belt. After Victory Road, he will come to claim that title from Angle. He says that he needs Angle nice and healthy to be a player in his game. Joe says that he needs Angle’s help so he can destroy Angle. Joe says that Angle will be broken. We go to commercial.

In the arena:

We are back and Jim Cornette has joined Don and Mike at the announce table. Mike Tenay talks about the match between Christian Cage and Chris Harris at Victory Road. We also have Rhino versus James Storm at Victory Road. Mike asks Jim Cornette about a special announcement regarding the X Division at Victory Road. Jim Cornette says that there will be an announcement next week about the most unique match in the sport, the Ultimate X match. Jim mentions that all of the slots have been filled for the main event at Victory Road with Kurt Angle and Samoa Joe facing Team 3D in the Match of Champions. Christian Cage comes out with Tomko and he is holding a director’s megaphone. He demands quiet on the set. Christian says that the fans might be wondering why he is carrying around the megaphone but it is because the megaphone is a symbol of a director or producer and a man with power. Christian wants to give Jimmy a list of things that he has produced for him. He says that he produced ratings as well as a long list of superstars. Christian starts to name the superstars and he mentions Jeff Jarrett, Sting, Rhino, Samoa Joe, Abyss, and more. Now they have Chris Harris. Christian asks Jim Cornette who the hell Chris Harris is and then says that at Victory Road, Chris Harris will be a bona fide superstar for breathing the same air as the champ. After he makes another superstar, Christian tells Cornette that he will have to put the biggest name, Christian Cage, back in the main event. Jim Cornette gets up and he tells Christian Cage that Chris Harris is the guy fixing to shatter the glass ceiling and he is going to use Christian’s head as a battering ram. He tells Christian to worry about Abyss because he is still looking for Christian. Christian tells Cornette not to give him that crap because he knows that Abyss is not here tonight. Christian says that his pimp hand is strong and if Abyss was standing next to him he would slap Abyss’s ugly face. Abyss’s music plays and Christian and Tomko leave the Impact Zone.

Rhino:

We go to an interview that Mike Tenay had recently with Rhino. Mike asks Rhino about his recent actions on Impact, including the destruction of the Impact Zone. Mike wants some insight into Rhino’s actions. Rhino says that as a child, he saw his father drink a case of beer. He talks about how it was a sickness. When he was in his early twenties, he was going through some hard times and he turned to drinking. He had to lose all of his problems and it affected all of his life. His problem is an addiction that helped dissolve a marriage and dissolved what he worked for. He realized that was not the way. When you give up an addiction it is the one drink that will put you back in that spot. An addiction is a hard thing to kick. James Storm is making him go through it again by pouring that beer into his mouth. It reminded him of what he went through and James Storm needs to be responsible for what he did.

Traci Brooks vs. Jacqueline Moore vs. Gail Kim

Gail with forearms to Traci followed by a clothesline to Jackie. Gail takes down both Jackie and Traci. Gail with a head scissors that sends Traci out of the ring to the floor. Jackie with a rollup but Gail rolls through for the three count.

Winner - Gail Kim

The Aftermath:

After the match, Traci attacks Gail and then goes after the referee. Traci and Jackie work over Gail until Eric Young comes out to save Gail. Traci pushes Eric and distracts him to allow Jackie to climb on Eric’s back but Eric tosses her over. Traci tries to do the same thing Jackie did and she ends up with the same results. Robert Roode comes out and he attacks Young from behind. Roode punches Young while Traci and Jackie work over Gail. Roode has Traci raise Roode’s arm while Roode stands on Young’s head. We are told by Mike Tenay that Robert Roode and Traci Brooks will face Eric Young and Gail Kim at Victory Road.

Backstage:

We go to the back where Jeremy Borash is with Sting. Jeremy wants to know where Sting is taking him and Sting says that they are heading into the bowels of the building. Sting brings up the situation between him and Abyss and Jeremy says that a lot of people are wondering what is going on with the two of them. Sting tells Jeremy that he will be alright. Sting says that he never gave up hope on Abyss and he felt indebted to Abyss for what he did. He talks about how Abyss has been hiding behind the mask for a while but Sting points out that he has been hiding behind the paint for decades. Sting says that it is hard to ‘bare it all’ but that is what this interview is about. Sting says that Chris has something that he wants to say and he will say it next week. Jeremy wants to make sure that he heard Sting say that Abyss is going to talk next week. We see Abyss wearing Sting’s face paint as we go to commercial.

In the arena:

We are back and Kurt Angle comes to the ring and he has the TNA Heavyweight Title on one arm and the title belt from Antonio Inoki’s promotion in Japan on the other arm. Angle sets the belts down on the mat and he takes the mic. He says that tonight is Kurt Angle Champion of Champions Night. He says that he has done a lot in TNA which stands for ‘Total Nonstop Angle’. Angle says that everyone knows that Kurt Angle put TNA on the map, not Jeff Jarrett, Sting, Abyss, or Christian Cage. Since he came to TNA, they have had their highest ratings ever and their pay per view buys have skyrocketed to a record high. Angle talks about ‘Fat Man and Bobin’ and points out that he is talking about Team 3D. He says that after Victory Road, they will have the opportunity to tell their children that they were in the ring with Kurt Angle. They are going to get beaten and humiliated, but they will be in the ring with greatness. Team 3D’s music plays and we hear Brother Ray with a series of ‘blah blahs’ as they walk to the ring and throws in a ‘gold medal’. Brother Ray says that Kurt Angle has a lot of nerve to come out and say that this company revolves around him. This company is about an entire locker room of wrestlers striving to be the best wrestling company in the world. This company is about ‘total nonstop action’ not about Kurt Angle. He tells Angle that he said something intelligent about five minutes ago when you consider the number of times that he has been dumped on his head. Brother Ray points out Angle’s comments about the ratings but he says that it is because of guys like them, Angle, and the whole locker room. Most importantly it is because of the fans. He tells Angle that the fans are the reason why they are successful, not just because of Angle. Angle says that the fans live their lives and dreams through them. Angle introduces himself to Brother Ray in a sarcastic manner and points out that he won the gold medal in Atlanta in 1996. Angle suggests that Brother Ray won a hot dog eating contest on Coney Island in 1996 and then calls him an idiot. Angle tells Brother Ray that he sucks. Brother Ray responds that if he sucks, then Kurt blows. Angle tries to punch Brother Ray but Brother Ray blocks it and Brother Devon punches Angle. Brother Ray tells Devon to ‘get the table’. Devon gets the table while Brother Ray has his knee on Angle. Samoa Joe comes to the ring and he connects with a double clothesline on Team 3D followed by a Yakuza kick to Brother Ray that sends him out of the ring. Joe hits a Samoan Drop on Brother Devon. Angle gets to his feet and Angle hits the Olympic Slam on Joe through the table. Angle leaves the ring as we go to credits.
