TNA iMPACT! Opener:

Jeremy Borash is outside Jim Cornette’s office and he tells us that Kurt Angle entered the office moments ago and we go into the office to investigate. Kurt is yelling at Cornette telling him that he deserves a rematch since he made Joe tap out and Joe made him tap out. Cornette says that if what happened last week in the tag match was not enough to convince Samoa Joe to give him a rematch, then he cannot do anything about it. Cornette mentions that Joe wants the world title, and he cannot decide whether Christian Cage or Sting should be the man to challenge Abyss at Final Resolution. Angle says that he does not care about any of them because he wants Samoa Joe in the ring one-on-one. Cornette tells Angle that this is a special night because the year end awards are going to be announced. Cornette tells Angle to be the man he knows Angle can be and not disrupt the program. Angle says that he will not disrupt the show, but he will get his rematch, one way or the other. Angle leaves the office. Mike Tenay and Don West talk about the match tonight featuring Abyss, Sting, and Christian Cage with the stipulation of night stick on a pole. Tenay says that this match will help Jim Cornette decide who will face Abyss at Final Resolution.

Backstage:

Jeremy Borash is in the back with Abyss and James Mitchell and Jeremy mentions the Night Stick on a Pole match involving Abyss, Christian Cage, and Sting. Jeremy asks James Mitchell about whose side Abyss is on because of the solidarity between the two men last week. Mitchell says that he is wondering the same thing and he cannot get an answer. Mitchell wants to get an answer from Abyss as well. Is it the man who stole the NWA World Title from him or the man who brought him the championship? Mitchell tells Abyss that he made him look stupid when he gave Sting his baseball bat against his wishes. He can give Sting another present. He can give Sting the night stick. He can give it to Sting against the side of his head, in his ribs, and break his knee cap with it. If Abyss does not do that, he will reveal Abyss’s secret. Mitchell threatens to reveal the secret. Christian and Tomko might know the result, but he knows the cause. He wants Abyss to show him that he can trust him and believe him because right now he cannot trust Abyss. Mitchell tells Abyss that he knows where the bodies are buried and he will dig them up. Mitchell tells Abyss that he disgusts him.

We go the back where Letisha is with Samoa Joe. She says that Joe surprised everyone by coming in tonight on crutches and she asks for an update on his injury. Joe says that he has no injury. For eighteen months, he was undefeated and he did not get a title shot. He defeated the NWA World Heavyweight Champion and he did not get a title shot. He tells Angle that there is a realization. That is that Angle cannot beat him and he has moved on. He tells Angle to get over it.

In the arena:

Team 3D comes to the ring and Brother Ray has a mic. He says that as he walked through the valley of the shadow of death, he looked at his life and he realized that there ain’t no tag teams left. The Naturals got the crap beaten out of them so bad that he does not think we will ever see them again. VKM is too busy feuding with VKM. It looks like there is only one tag team left and that team is LAX. Brother Runt comes out and he is still in his Santa outfit. He says that he is so glad that his long lost brothers are back to take care of business with LAX. He has a question for his brothers. Where the hell were they last week when LAX was beating the snot out of him. Brother Ray reminds Runt that the last time they saw him, they went on a little vacation and they told him to behave, mind his manners, and keep his nose out of other people’s business. However, he picks a fight with Abyss. Runt wants to know if Ray wants him to apologize for being a man and because he fights for a living. He says that he is sorry that he is not a wimp or back down from anybody. Ray wants to know if Runt is drinking again. Runt pulls out a bottle of alcohol and then he spits some of it in Ray’s face after Ray tells Runt that he has a problem. Devon wants to know what is happening. He tells Lethal to do it for ‘the black guys’ and then Shelley tells Lethal ‘soul power’. Senshi leaps over the limbo stick and Lethal wonders if that is legal. Nash tells him that it is legal. Nash says that for the first time since 1934 there will be a Backlund Bob-off where two men go at the same time. Shelley and Lethal are the last two men and Shelley is eliminated. If she is talking about Abyss’s secret, we will know when he wants us to know. He mentions that earlier tonight, Jim Mitchell verified what Christian has been telling everyone. That is that Sting and Abyss have been conspiring against him to keep him from becoming the NWA World Heavyweight Champion. Abyss knows that he is not the face of TNA and Sting’s best days are behind him. Christian says that he shines brighter than them all. If Abyss and Sting have any plans to make tonight’s match a handicap match, he tells them that he has that problem solved. Jim Cornette will have no choice but to give him his one-on-one match with Abyss at Final Resolution. We go to commercial.

We are back with the Voodoo Kin Mafia in Knoxville. We see some of the fans chanting for VKM and holding up VKM signs as they pose with Kip and BG outside the arena.
