TNA iMPACT Results - 12/14/2006
Written by Richard Trionfo (PWInsider.com) on Dec 14, 2006 - 11:59:05 PM
Last Sunday was the final pay per view of the year for Total Nonstop Action and we saw Samoa Joe get a victory over Kurt Angle in the main event. We also saw Abyss retain the NWA World Title and Christopher Daniels retain the X Division Title. Who will be the next men to challenge for the three titles in Total Nonstop Action Wrestling? What is next for America ’s Most Wanted since James Storm gave Chris Harris until tonight’s show to decide on the future of America ’s Most Wanted. Since Angle and Joe have one victory each in their feud, will Kurt Angle be a man of his word and not seek a rematch, or will we remember that this is professional wrestling and will we already have a rematch announced? Now that Eric Young won a bikini contest, what is next for him? Will he face Traci Brooks in an evening gown contest in order to become Ms. TNA? With all three champions on the show, will we see a title change? What matches will be announced for Final Resolution?
We start off tonight’s show with Kurt Angle walking through the hallways of the TNA offices and he is looking for Samoa Joe. Angle sees Jeremy Borash making copies and he picks Jeremy up and puts him against the wall. Angle tells Borash to let Joe know that he is looking for him.
We see footage from the Turning Point pay per view. First we see footage from the NWA World Title match where Abyss retained the title. We see footage of the rematch, after we hear Angle’s comments that this was the final match between the two. We see Angle tap while the referee was not looking, but then we see Angle tap to Joe.
We are live on tape from Universal Studios in Orlando , Florida and your announcers are Mike ‘TNA’ Tenay and Don ‘you have got to be kidding me’ West.
Robert Roode and Ms. Traci Brooks are in the ring and Robert has something to say. Robert says that he is not a happy man and when he is not happy, nobody is happy. Roode tells Eric Young that he knows he is in the Impact Zone and he wants Eric Young to come to the ring because he has an offer that Eric Young cannot refuse.
Someone comes to the ring, but it is not Eric Young. Instead, Kurt Angle comes to the ring and he tells Robert Roode to get out of his ring. Roode and Brooks leave the ring. Angle says that for three straight days it has been going over in his mind about his match with Samoa Joe at Turning Point. He says that Kurt Angle does not tap out. He has a problem because his career has been blemished. It has been driving him nuts that Samoa Joe defeated Kurt Angle. Angle tells Joe that he gave him a chance at a rematch and a chance at redemption. He tells Joe that he wants the same. He wants a rematch, and he wants Joe to come to the ring and look him in the eye and give him a rematch.
Joe appears on the video screen and he says that he understands that Angle wants a rematch. Joe points out that it is funny because he remembers Angle saying before Turning Point that would be the final match between Angle and Joe. Win, lose, or draw they would never meet again. Each has their eyes on the NWA Title. Joe says that as far as he is concerned, Angle lost and has been broken. As much as Angle wants a rematch, Joe says that they are done.
Angle leaves the ring and he walks to the announce table and interrupts Don and Mike. Angle wants to know what Don West is saying, and Don talks about how Angle said before Turning Point that there would be no more matches after Turning Point. Angle grabs Don West and then he puts Don in the ankle lock. Security comes out and they try to get Angle to release the hold.
Mike Tenay is at the announce position and he apologizes for the chaotic situation in the Impact Zone to start off this week’s show. Mike talks about Don West being attacked by Kurt Angle as we see Don writhing in pain on the floor after the ankle lock.

Letisha is with Christian Cage and Tomko in the back and Christian cuts her off. He says that after seeing what Kurt Angle did to Don West, he has no problem doing that to Letisha. He tells Abyss that he is owed a one-on-one match. Christian gives Abyss until the end of Impact to accept or he will reveal Abyss’s secret.
We hear some yelling elsewhere in the back and Letisha goes to investigate. It is Traci Brooks and Eric Young. Traci wants Eric to sign the contract because she does not want to be fired. From out of nowhere, Kurt Angle pushes Young against the wall and wants to know where Samoa Joe is. Angle with a European uppercut to Young and we go to commercial.

Kevin Nash is in the back with the participants and he says that it is time for them to do push-ups. He says that they will be using the Bob Backlund system. Nash tells Jay Lethal that he is first. Lethal wonders why he is first and Nash says that it is because he is black. Lethal wonders if this is fair and in the Backlund system it is fair. Someone points out that Backlund is not here, but Shelley says that Backlund is here in spirit. We see Austin Starr finishing his push-ups and people question his use of additional equipment, but Nash says that it is Bob Backlund authorized. Dutt complains and Nash accuses him of being on something. Starr says that he will do it one handed. They tell Dutt to put his rear end in Starr’s face and Starr does the one-handed push-ups with Dutt in his face. Senshi does push-ups and then Shelley does his push-ups. Dutt is the final man to do push-ups and Nash puts an ‘I’m on Steroids’ sign on Dutt’s back. Nash announces that the winner of the Push-up Contest is Jay Lethal. Nash says that everyone can feel free to kiss the winner.
