TNA iMPACT! Opener:
We see Scott Hall arrive at the Impact Zone earlier in the evening. Don and Mike are at the announce table after they discuss what is scheduled for this week’s show. Mike talks about the history between Hall and Nash in and out of the ring. Mike suggests that Nash and Hall could be on opposite sides of the ring at Genesis. Don talks about the six man tag match as well as the finals of the Fight for the Right Tournament.
Fight For Your Right Finals
Frankie Kazarian vs. Christian Cage
We see the brackets for the Fight for the Right Tournament and we are reminded that the winner gets a title match. We see highlights from Christian’s match against Chris Harris from last week. We also see highlights from Frankie Kazarian’s victories over Lance Hoyt and James Storm.
The start:
They lock up and Kazarian backs Christian into the turnbuckles and has a clean break. Christian with a waist lock but Kazarian with an arm bar after an escape. Christian reverses and Kazarian uses the ropes to reverse the hold and he takes Christian down to the mat. Kazarian with a top wrist lock but Christian with a knee and arm bar. Christian sends Kazarian to the mat but Kazarian kips up. Kazarian with a drop toe hold into a side head lock. Kazarian with a shoulder tackle and then he gets a near fall. Kazarian says that he almost beat Christian.
Mid-match notes:
They lock up again and Christian with an arm bar but Christian with a side head lock. Christian charges at Kazarian but Kazarian moves out of the way and Christian goes out of the ring to the floor. Christian returns to the ring and he gets in Kazarian’s face and then he slaps Kazarian. Christian takes Christian down by the head and slams it into the mat. Kazarian with an Irish whip but he charges into an elbow and then Christian hits a back elbow from the second turnbuckle. Christian rakes at Kazarian’s face followed by chops. Christian chokes Kazarian in the ropes and then he tries to get his peeps to cheer for his performance. Kazarian with a kick but Christian hits a monkey flip but Kazarian lands on his feet and slams Christian followed by a springboard corkscrew leg drop. Kazarian with a hesitation kick into the corner and Christian goes to the apron. They fight to the apron and Christian tries to use the ropes as a slingshot but Kazarian blocks it and Kazarian hits a springboard leg drop as we go to commercial. We are back and Kazarian punches Christian but Christian works on Kazarian’s arm followed by a chop. Kazarian with a series of kicks. We see footage during the break when Kazarian sent Christian into the ring steps. We see Kazarian get sent into the ring post.
We return to live on tape action and Christian hits a flatline for a two count. Christian signals that he is going to send Kazarian over the top rope but Kazarian turns the tables. Christian goes up top but Kazarian meets Christian with a drop kick. Kazarian with a back elbow and clothesline followed by a flying forearm. Christian with a kick but Kazarian with a drop kick for a near fall. Christian with a double leg take down and he catapults Kazarian into the turnbuckles but Kazarian lands on the turnbuckles and hits a kick for a near fall. Kazarian with a DDT for a two count. Kazarian goes up top and misses a leg drop as Christian rolls out of the way. Christian goes up top and Kazarian hits a kick to Christian’s head but Christian stays on the top turnbuckle. Kazarian tries for the Flux Capacitor but Christian bites Kazarian’s forehead and hits a frog splash for a two count. Christian slaps Kazarian in the head but Christian with a rake of the eyes and then he sets for the Unprettier but Kazarian gets out of the hold and tries for a belly-to-back suplex but Christian lands on his feet.
The Finish:
Kazarian hits Wave of the Future for a two count. A.J. Styles shows up at ringside and Kazarian with a suicide dive on Styles and then he rolls Styles into the ring. Kazarian with a drop kick to Styles. Tomko comes to the ring and hits a drop kick to Tomko on the apron. Kazarian hits a drop kick with help from the ladder. Tomko hits Kazarian while the referee is distracted by Styles and then Christian hits Kazarian with the ladder and gets the three count.
Winner - Christian Cage
The Aftermath:
After the match, Matt Morgan comes to the ring and he has something to say. Morgan tells Cage that was awesome and he wants the fans to give it up for Christian Cage. Morgan suggests that we should call this an Instant Screwjob. Morgan says that while Cornette is not here, he is the one who calls the shots. Morgan throws the match out and calls it a no contest. Morgan asks Christian if he stuttered. Morgan tells Christian that at Genesis, he will get HIS MATCH and it will be a Ladder Match.
Backstage:
Jeremy Borash is in the back with Kurt Angle, his Wife Karen, and his BFF Kevin Nash. Angle is not happy that Scott Hall is in the building. Angle wants to know what Nash did to anger Scott. Nash says that maybe Scott thinks he turned his back when Hall was in trouble. Angle wants to know if Nash is Dr. Phil and says that Hall and Nash are acting like a couple of women. Nash tells Angle not to push it. Nash wants Angle to take a swing at him but Karen pipes in and shrieks her way into separating Kurt and Kevin. Karen says that they have been through enough already and there is only one way to find out why Scott Hall is here. Karen says that she is going to talk to Scott and take care of business. Karen asks Kevin and Kurt if they can get along for five minutes while mommy is gone. We go to commercial.
Backstage:
We are back and Crystal is in the interview area with Christian Cage, and the TNA Tag Team Champions A.J. Styles and Tomko. Crystal suggests that Christian might not be pleased with Matt Morgan’s decision. Christian says that is an understatement and he wants to know who put Matt Morgan in charge. Christian wants to know who Matt Morgan has beaten. Christian says that he just beat Kazarian to become the number one contender in the ring but now he wants to redo the match. Christian says that if they are going to redo the semi-final match of the Fight for the Right Tournament it will be in his match, a ladder match. Christian tells Kazarian to show up at Genesis and try to climb to the top. There is only one name on the reservation and it has his name on it. Tomko wants to know who Christian’s number one guy is. Christian tells Tomko not to touch the champ when he is in a bad mood. Tomko says that after all of the years together, Tomko is doing the one thing that he told him not to do. Tomko started to think. Christian tells A.J. that when he is not there, he is in charge. Styles says that he is like Donald Trump but without the bad hair. Styles makes a challenge for Scott Steiner and talks about how Scott is a great amateur wrestler. Styles says that he was offered a scholarship to Gainesville Vocational. Styles suggests that they get five minutes to see who can get the most take downs. Styles says that he is going to start this fight but at Genesis, Tomko is going to finish it.
Non Title Match
Alexa Jade vs. Gail Kim (c)
The start:
Gail with a side head lock and take down but Jade with a head scissors until Gail escapes. Gail with another side head lock. Jade with a hammer lock and tries for a rollup but she can only get a two count. Gail with another rollup for another near fall. They lock up again and Jade backs Gail into the ropes and she chops Gail. Jade with an Irish whip but Gail floats over and then she hits an arm drag with help from the ropes and a flying clothesline. Gail with a running knee drop and then she goes up top for the missile drop kick but Jade hits the ropes and Gail falls to the mat.
The Finish:
Jade chokes Gail in the corner with her boot. Jade with a running knee to the head for a near fall. Jade with a snap mare and kick to the back. Jade chokes Gail in the ropes and then she sets for another running knee but Gail anticipates it coming. Gail with an elbow followed by clotheslines and a drop kick. Gail with a neck breaker for a two count. Jade with an Irish whip but Gail hits a cross body for a two count. Gail hits a Kryptonite Krunch for the three count.
Winner, the TNA Knockouts Champion, Gail Kim
The Aftermath:
After the match the Voodoo Kin Mafia comes out and BG tells Gail to be careful with her title belt because she won’t be leaving the match with it. Roxxi Laveaux comes up behind Gail and hits the Dominator. Roxxi holds the title belt while on the turnbuckles. Angel Williams comes into the ring and she power bombs Laveaux and she holds up the title belt. That signals the appearance of ODB who attacks Angel from behind and hits a fallaway slam. ODB holds the title belt but Gail Kim hits a missile drop kick.
Backstage:
We go to the back where Jeremy Borash is with Karen Angle outside Scott Hall’s dressing room. Karen wants Jeremy to stop staring at her talents and asks Jeremy if he has seen a set of breasts before. Karen knocks on the door and she walks in while Scott is on the phone. Karen introduces herself to Scott and she says that she does not know why he is here but she has an offer that might be better than the actual reason why he is here. Karen whispers into Scott’s ear and Scott asks Karen if she is married. Karen says that Scott can trust her. Scott says that if she is talking about trust, maybe she should have a meeting with her old man to learn about trust. Scott says that you cannot trust the other wrestlers, the office, the promoters, and the rats. Scott says that everyone wants to know why he is here. It is for six foot eleven Big Kev. Scott tells Karen to take her sweetcakes back to her man and let him deal with Kevin on his own. We go to commercial.
Backstage:
We are back and Karen is walking in the back and Jeremy wants to know how Karen is going to explain things to her husband. Karen says that she will just go to the original plan and she walks into the men’s room to the shock and amazement of Jeremy Borash. Don and Mike want to know what is going on with Karen Angle in the men’s room. Mike talks about the showdown between Kevin Nash and Scott Hall as well as the main event six man tag match.
Team 3D vs. Jay Lethal and Abyss
We see the damage that Team 3D has caused to the X Division. Matt Morgan comes to the ringside area and he hands something to Mike Tenay while Val is smitten with Lethal. Don and Mike talk about Lethal and Abyss’s previous work together.
The start:
Lethal and Ray start things off and they lock up. Ray with a side head lock while Mike announces some new matches to the show. Ray with a shoulder tackle while we find out that Lethal will defend the X Division Title against Sonjay Dutt. Ray and Lethal lock up again and Ray backs Lethal into the corner and he tries to chop Lethal but Lethal with two arm drags followed by a head scissors take down. Ray backs into the corner and Ray with a forearm to the back followed by a chop. Devon tags in and Lethal hits a springboard cross body on both men and then hits a springboard missile drop kick on both men.
Mid-match notes:
Abyss is tagged in and he gets both men set for choke slams but they punch Abyss. Abyss with a double clothesline and then he hits a side slam on Devon for a two count. Lethal tags back in and he hits a double sledge to the arm followed by a series of jabs. Devon with an Irish whip but he charges into the boots. Ray pulls Lethal down to the mat and pulls Lethal into the ring post in his little machismos. Devon with a forearm to the back and then he slams Lethal’s head into the turnbuckles. Devon with punches to Lethal followed by a choke in the corner. Ray is tagged back in and he connects with a forearm to the back and he mocks Lethal’s savage behavior. Ray puts Lethal in the tree of woe and then he chops Lethal followed by a neck breaker in the turnbuckles.
Ray punches Lethal and tags in Devon who punches Lethal in the chest. Devon with a reverse chin lock. Lethal with elbows to get out of the hold followed by jabs but Devon with a high back body drop and Lethal rolls around the mat in pain. Devon wants Lethal to get to his feet and Lethal hits a jumping leg lariat and both men are down. Abyss is tagged in and Abyss goes after Ray and Devon with punches and clotheslines. Abyss slams Ray and then he hits a spinebuster on Devon. Abyss with a running splash into the corner and then he does the same thing to Devon.
The Finish:
Abyss with the running butt splash to Ray and then he hits a choke slam on Devon. Lethal tags in and hits an elbow drop from the top turnbuckle but he only gets a two count. Black Reign comes to the ring and he goes after Abyss. Abyss slams Black Reign’s head into the ring steps. They fight into the crowd while Lethal takes care of Devon. Ray accidentally clotheslines Devon and Lethal gets a two count. Devon with a low blow and then they hit 3D on Lethal for the three count.
Winners - Team 3D
The Aftermath:
After the match, we see Black Reign and Abyss battle in the back while Team 3D prepare to take care of Lethal with some tables. Black Reign and Abyss continue to battle while security tries to separate them. Devon brings a table into the ring and set it up. Lethal is placed on the table and Devon and Ray whip Lethal with their belts. Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley come to the ring and they hit enzuigiris on Devon and Ray as they leave the ring.
Backstage:
We go to the latest episode of Everybody Loves the Angles and Kurt and Karen are talking in the dressing room while Jeremy holds the mic and Kevin is staring at the situation. Kurt wants to know what Scott said but Karen tells Kurt to take a deep breath. Karen says thing did not go well with Scott, but there is another road to go down. Karen tells Kurt that it does not matter. Kurt wants to know where Karen was since she said she would be gone for five minutes but it was ten. Karen says that she was taking care of business. Jeremy tells Kurt that Karen was in the men’s room and he wants to know what Karen was doing in the men’s room. Karen asks Jeremy if he is a stooge and wants to know what his problem is. Karen tells Kurt to trust him and Kurt says that he does not trust anyone. Kurt says that he is going to confront Scott Hall. Karen tells Jeremy to get out. We go to commercial.
In the arena:
We are back and Everybody Loves Angle moves into the Impact Zone as Angle rises in the AngleVator. Angle says that it is shake and break time for Scott Hall. He gives Hall ten seconds to come out or he will go to the back. Angle counts to ten and he tells Scott Hall to Have it his way and Angle walks up the Chute of Heelish Impact and to the back. Angle leaves the building. Don and Mike talk about how they are going to try to follow Kurt Angle and we see Angle walking in the hallway as he looks for Scott Hall. Angle goes to the room that Hall was in earlier and Eric Young is in there. Eric Young says that he is doing a bad job of hiding when Kurt asks why he is in the room. Angle asks Young where Hall is and Hall tells Angle that he is right there. Angle says that he does not know Hall and Hall tells Angle to keep it that way. Angle tells Hall that he has his problems with Nash but he better stay out of his way. Angle starts to walk out but it was a ruse but Hall is too smart for Angle and he sends Angle into the wall. Hall tells Angle that what is between him and Nash stays between him and Nash and Angle should stay out of it.
Backstage:
We go to Crystal in the back with the Steiner Brothers. Crystal asks Scott about the Takedown Challenge. Scott says that he is who he is. While A.J. was being taken to school in his little yellow bus, he was wrestling at the highest level at the University of Michigan. Scott points out that A.J. was a cheerleader in college and Crystal comments that she was a cheerleader too, but Scott tells her to shut up. Scott calls Crystal Candy and Skank before telling her to just hold the mic. Scott says that Styles is not man enough to get in the ring with him. Scott tells A.J. to ask his girlfriend while she takes him shopping at Baby Gap and Toys R Us and wraps him in his Buzz Lightyear blanket, he asks A.J. who she calls for satisfaction. Scott tells A.J. that he is in the big leagues and he is going to kick his ass big time.
Takedown Invitational
AJ Styles vs. Scott Steiner
The start:
They shake hands at the start of the match. Styles goes for Steiner’s leg but Steiner throws him to the mat. Styles goes for the leg again but Steiner pushes him away. Steiner pushes Styles away one more time. Styles continues to try to go for the leg but Steiner pushes Styles away and A.J. get frustrated. Styles removes his headgear in frustration. While the referee takes the headgear out of the ring and A.J. uses that opportunity to throw powder into Steiner’s eyes and he gets a take down. Styles with another take down while Steiner tries to get the powder out of his eyes. Styles with another fireman’s carry take down to get a three-to-nothing lead.
The Finish:
Styles goes for another takedown but Steiner with a gutwrench followed by another take down to cut the lead to one. Steiner with a suplex to tie things. Steiner with a belly-to-belly suplex to take a four-to-three lead. From out of nowhere, Tomko comes to the ring and he punches Scott. The referee calls for the bell while Tomko and Styles work over Scott. From out of nowhere, Rick comes into the ring and he goes after Styles and Tomko. Scott with an overhead belly-to-belly suplex to Tomko followed by another one to Styles as they both leave the ring.
Winner - Scott Steiner
Backstage:
We go to the back for more Angles than a geometry class. Kurt tells Nash that Hall is loco and calls him a mental case. Nash says that it is between him and Hall now. Nash says that if Hall does what he thinks Hall is going to do, God help us all. We go to commercial.
Backstage:
Crystal is outside Sting’s dressing room waiting for news on his mystery partner and Scott Hall walks out of the room.
Six Man Tag Team Match
Robert Roode, James Storm and Kurt Angle vs. Samoa Joe, Eric Young and Sting
While Roode walks to the ring, he sees his number one fan.
The start:
Joe goes after Roode before anyone locks up but Roode makes it to the floor before Joe can get a piece of him. Sting and Roode start things off and Roode with a forearm to the back followed by a punch and side head lock. Roode with a shoulder tackle but Sting with a hip toss and drop kick. Sting with a side head lock and he tags in Joe but Roode leaves the ring and tags in Storm. Joe with a side head lock and shoulder tackle. Storm tries for a leap frog but Joe sends Storm face first into the mat. Joe with jabs followed by an Irish whip but Storm with an elbow and Storm goes to the second turnbuckle but Joe moves.
Mid-match notes:
Storm gets out of the ring and he tags in Angle as he leaves. Young tags in as well as Joe gives Young some advice. Young avoids Angle and then he punches Kurt. Young does the Flair flip and then he returns to the ring and he clotheslines Angle over the top rope to the floor. Young finds a phone book and he hits Angle with it. They return to the ring. While there is action going on in the ring, we see the understudies for Everybody Loves Angle, Jeremy Borash and Kevin Nash standing outside the Impact Zone. We return to the action in the ring and Roode with a knee to Young’s back followed by an overhead belly-to-belly suplex by Angle for a near fall. Karen Angle comes to the ring while Angle punches Young. Roode tags in and he punches Young while Angle has Young in a front face lock. We go to commercial. We are back and Roode chops Young followed by a back body drop but Joe breaks up the cover. Angle is tagged in and he kicks Young in the ribs while Karen claps. Young falls victim to boots from Angle and then Angle with a backbreaker for a near fall. Angle with a body scissors to Young.
Sting tries to break up the body scissors but the referee sends Sting back to the apron. Angle with a side head lock but Young with elbows. Angle with a back elbow and he tries to draw Sting into the match. Angle with a side head lock. Angle tries for a belly-to-back suplex but Young gets out of the hold and he tags in Joe who connects with forearms to Angle and Storm. Joe knocks Roode off the apron and then he hits a power slam on Angle. Joe with an STO when Storm charges at the corner. Angle is placed on the top turnbuckle and then he hits a version of an enzuigiri. Joe with a reverse atomic drop to Storm but Roode trips Joe. Storm with a high knee to Joe and then he chokes Joe. Roode tags in and he punches Joe. Joe slaps Roode but Roode with an elbow and a clothesline for a two count. Roode with a rear chin lock but Joe gets to his feet and he connects with elbows. Roode with an Irish whip but Joe with an elbow to a charging Roode followed by a boot and flying leg lariat and both men are down.
The Finish:
Storm and Sting tag in and Sting punches Roode and Storm and then he knocks Angle off the apron. Sting with a Stinger Splash to Storm’s back and then one to Roode. Sting hits the Scorpion Death Drop on Storm but Roode breaks up the cover. Joe stops Roode and then Angle with the Olympic Slam to Sting. Young goes after Angle and connects with a clothesline. They fight outside the ring while Sting puts Storm in the Scorpion Death Lock and Storm taps out.
Winners - Sting, Samoa Joe and Eric Young
Backstage:
Jeremy Borash is in the back and he tells Kevin Nash that there is only one more conversation and it is between him and Hall. Nash walks into commercial.
In the arena:
We are back and Kevin Nash walks gingerly to the ring. Nash says that he has been waiting all night to know why Scott Hall is here. He wants Scott to come to the ring to find out why he is here. Scott walks the line to the ring. Scott says that it has been a long time and Nash says that it has been a long time. Scott says that he did not get the memo about the dress code and he thought they were still dying their hair. He did not know that they became mature. Kevin says that you have to grow up some time. Hall wants to know what happens if he is still immature. Scott wants to know back when the Cliq was running wrestling, Nash was easy to find. When he slips and falls, or maybe staggers in the gutter, why can’t he find Big Sexy. Nash says that there is a point when the person staggering next to Scott was him. He almost lost his family and he had to change. Nash says that he wasn’t the friend that he should have been. Scott says that they can rehash old times and put everyone to sleep and they can talk about now. Hall says that he is not Sting’s partner and will never be. Hall and Nash hug in the center of the ring. It is time for the next episode of Everyone Loves Angle as Kurt comes to the ring. Kurt says that he hates to break up the two love birds but he is a little confused. Nash is his tag team partner and he wants to kill him. Hall attacks him backstage and he isn’t Sting’s partner. Sting shows up at the top of the Ramp of Facial Impact and Sting stands there while we go to credits.
