Jeff Hardy's trial on four cases begins tomorrow in the Superior Court of Moore County, North Carolina. Hardy was arrested on September 11, 2009 and indicted on January 4, 2010. Below are the details on all four cases:
* Felony drug trafficking, two felony charges of possession of a Schedule III controlled substance or drug.
* Felony possession of cocaine and a felony charge for maintaining a dwelling for retribution of controlled substances
* Misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia
* Conspiracy to traffic opium for trafficking four or more grams but less than fourteen grams of opium/heroin
Hardy faces a total of five felonies, a misdemeanor charge and a conspiracy charge. The conspiracy to traffic opium charge is newly added. A 12-person jury will hear the case and ultimately determine if he is "guilty" or "not guilty" on each charge. If Hardy is found guilty on any of the charges, there will be another court date for sentencing.
Richard Reacts: I don't think I need to tell you - Jeff Hardy is in a lot of trouble. We'll see what happens with the case but a "guilty" verdict on any of the charges that includes prison time will not bode well for his professional wrestling career. Hardy is under a TNA contract that he signed just a couple of weeks ago.
