TNA “IMPACT WRESTLING” TO REMAIN LIVE ON THURSDAY NIGHTS THROUGH THE END OF 2012

New York, NY – September X, 2012 – – Spike TV’s highly-rated weekly series “IMPACT WRESTLING” will continue to run LIVE in its current 8:00pm timeslot through the end of 2012, it was jointly announced today by Dixie Carter, President, TNA Entertainment, and Kevin Kay, President, Spike TV.

Spike TV began airing “Impact Wrestling” LIVE, instead of its traditional taped format, on May 31 from Universal Studios on Thursday nights. As a result the change, Spike’s 8-10pm timeslot has grown +33% in households, +47% in Men-18-49, and +35% in viewers.

Funny it’s coming out now when I told Richard last week about this on his Facebook. He never did give me credit for telling him.. Maybe he will today.

No offense my loyal reader but I didn't see your FB post and do not use my Facebook page to check for news items. If you have a news item to send, please use the "Send News" form at the top of the website. We actually learned of Impact remaining live when Universal Studios updated their schedule on their official website. We reported it, Dixie confirmed it and now here we are with an official press release.

Highly rated? The ratings are terrible, and have stayed flat for years. This move makes no sense as it costs much more to do live programming every week than taped. I thought they were trying to save money?

    • Phill

the ratings are NOT terrible, they are consistent. they may not be as big as the WWE, and probably never willbe. but its good for Spike.. and in the UK, TNA scores better ratings than the WWE.

        Two Reasons.

        1) RAW airs Live at 1 – 4 AM
        2) on a paid Channel not a freeview channel
