Trent Barreta Released From WWE

Trent Barreta has been released from WWE, according to his Twitter account:

So fired right now.Just wanna say thanks to everyone. WWE, all the good brothers, and fans. Thanks.

Barreta debuted on WWE’s ECW brand in 2009 as part of the Dudebusters tag team along with Caylen Croft. He suffered a torn bicep in 2012 and appeared regularly on NXT after the injury healed.

I guess WWE got tired of being faced with the burning question of “Where’s Trent?”. But I do enjoy Barreta’s work and hope he finds success elsewhere.

  I seriously doubt it was much of a burning question. Far more likely is that they had nothing for him. Undoubtedly, you’re on my wavelength there.

    He was injured. That was the whole point of the “Where’s Trent?” angle. It keeps him on people’s minds while he’s not able to compete.

I’d rather see him on TV over Ryder at this point. What a shame. Speaking of Ryder, why not reunite him with Hawkins sometime, since neither has a singles career.
