Tyson Kidd Responds To CM Punk’s “Workhorse” Comment

Tyson Kidd, who recently suffered a torn meniscus, spoke out about the shout-out he received from CM Punk in his latest pipe bomb. Kidd had the following to say:

“I’ve always considered myself a workhorse, and I’ve definitely used that word to describe myself over the last two years,” Kidd said, reflecting on Punk’s carefully chosen terminology. “I go out there and give it my all every single match — and I’ve been doing that for 17 years. Whether in WWE or Japan or Europe or back home in (Calgary, Alberta’s) Stampede Wrestling, it’s always been the same story. In a worst-case scenario, I will outwrestle everybody on this show. Anyone that’s gonna outwrestle me had better perform after me, because I’m going to outperform everybody that I saw before me.”

Kidd also noted that this is his first sidelining injury in 17 years of wrestling. Click here to read the full story.

I would love to see a good atleast 15 min match between Punk and Kidd. Or Kidd and Ziggler. they can steal the show

  • John

Unfortunately Tyson Kidd is the new Shelton Benjamin! Phenomenal talent, but will never get an opportunity to make it big in the WWE.

I agree but at least Benjamin had a solid mid-card/upper mid-card run. I mean Tyson hasn’t had anything except for a tag team title run which seems like ages ago now.

    • Stoney

no Kofi’s the new Shelton Benjamin

I just don’t know if the majority of today’s fans enjoy good wrestling. To a certain degree, they’ve been conditioned to look at the WWE as a circus or variety show moreso than a wrestling event. You go to see a bunch of characters in backstage skits, goofy vignettes, and also several short wrestling matches.

Unfortunately, the majority of today’s “fans” would rather see and cheer boring old John “5 Moves of Doom” Cena than an actual WRESTLING match. Hence the change from the World Wrestling Federation in the good old days to World Wrestling Entertainment to today’s plain old WWE. As far as I’m concerned, I just wish they would reverse the current and bring the F back IN!

I agree to a point BUT I have been fortunate enough this past year to see tyson wrestle The American Dragon and Punk and also had some great matches with Dragon(( I do not call him Daniel Bryan because I feel its an unsult to change the name of oneof the best wrestlers of the past 20 years just for VKM ego bashing))

I would call him by his name, which is Bryan Danielson. I have often referred to wrestlers by the names I knew them by BEFORE joining WWE, unless the name they’re using is their real name (see: Mickie James). Natalie (Natty) Neidhart and Claudio Castagnoli are good examples.

“Hence the change from the World Wrestling Federation in the good old days to World Wrestling Entertainment to today’s plain old WWE”

The name change was a knee-jerk reaction from the lawsuit by the world wildlife federation. They couldn’t redesign the logo radically and had to settle with an “E” at the end (rotate the logo 90 degrees to the right for the “E”). They use the abbreviation as much as possible because “World Wrestling Entertainment” just doesn’t have the same “ring” to it like the old name.
