Update On Dean Ambrose’s Short-Term WWE Future

Dean Ambrose was written off of WWE television last week to film his role in the upcoming WWE Studios production “Lockdown.” Filming is currently scheduled to take place through September 20, 2014. Ambrose would be available for Night of Champions on September 21, 2014 and is advertised for the television tapings to follow.

The storyline is Ambrose went “missing” after “refusing treatment” for “head and spine trauma.” We recapped that coverage at this link. Triple H discussed Ambrose in his latest kayfabe interviews that you can watch here and here.

The backstage reaction to Dean Ambrose’s program with Seth Rollins was very positive. It was seen as one of the best undercard programs in quite some time and received rave reviews all around.

Ambrose was always the standout of the Shield.
Forget Reigns give Dean Ambrose the Mania 31 main event.

    • Samantha

That would be badass to see Ambrose get the rub. I don’t dislike Reigns but call it the mark in me to feel a bit more giddy if Ambrose got it instead lol. Guess we’ll have to see though how things progress.

… and forget a returning Bryan too :) Ambrose over Reigns and Bryan to be the guy to take on Brock at WM 31. I bet fans will get so conflicted with that :)

  • Chris

So there’s a chance he could show up and take out Rollins at Night of Champions, although that might confuse things with Reigns.

Does anyone know who the lead producer/writer of this feud is/was? I know that the talent has put on quite the show, but I was curious as to who was responsible for the story.

Probably Joey Mercury since he seems to have beeen heavily involved in the backstage development of The Shield members since developmental.

The Ambrose/Rollins feud has been excellent. Both of them deserve some love for all the hard work they’re putting into it. Looking forward to Ambrose’s return. He’s one of the main reasons I tune into WWE programming and has been sorely missed in his absence. Hopefully he and Rollins end up in the HIAC and Dean picks up the victory. Looking forward to hearing more information on that Lockdown film as well.
