Updated Plans For Roman Reigns, Goldberg, Undertaker And Brock Lesnar

Progressing storylines forward from Royal Rumble and beyond, Roman Reigns is expected to feud with Braun Strowman in a stopgap program to a match against The Undertaker at Wrestlemania 33. It would appear there are a change in plans for Reigns to challenge for the WWE Universal Championship at Wrestlemania 33 as it now looks as though it will be Goldberg vs. Brock Lesnar competing for that title.

Goldberg is expected to feud with Kevin Owens for the WWE Universal Championship, culminating with a main event match at WWE Fastlane in March. The plan of course is for him to defeat Owens for the title and defend it in a big Wrestlemania rematch against Brock Lesnar at Wrestlemania 33.

The plan going back to before last night's Royal Rumble was for neither Owens nor AJ Styles to defend world titles at Wrestlemania 33.

No word on what happened to Reigns challenging for the title at Wrestlemania but the word coming out of Royal Rumble was that he’d be facing Strowman (Fastlane) and then The Undertaker (Wrestlemania 33). As for Goldberg, we’ve heard it’s Owens and then Lesnar.

Still happy Roman didn’t win the title? Here’s another thing that’s sure to male people angry. The WWE has spent years building up Lesnar. Goldberg squashed him in 1:24. How quickly is going to squash Owens?

    • Patrick

well someone has to beat Lesner. just to bad it’s been Goldberg.

      • Eddie

Here’s another thing that is going to irritate people. Lesnar will probably hold the title all summer. And if they go with Roman over Taker, I could see Roman beating Lesnar for the title at Summerslam

    • Yes, I’m still happy Roman didn’t win the title. He’s been shoved down our throats so far that I can no longer feel my tonsils. Vince refuses to let him grow organically. He also refuses to turn him heel. He’d stand a much better chance as a heel because he’s a totally bland and boring face.

      • Eddie

I know. I’ve been reading that for 2 years

        • That’s why it’s gotta change. We (I’m hardly alone) keep saying it because it keeps happening. Roman isn’t the problem at all; Vince is. Just let him happen naturally. That’s all we’re saying.

Difference between Goldberg and Reigns, for me, is that Goldberg made me a fan of his and was the one who got me into wrestling. Reigns doesn’t have the same magic that he has. I’d much rather prefer Goldberg over Reigns. It’s like Sting, people wanted him to have one WWE Title run, now I wouldn’t mind the same for Goldberg. Anyone but Reigns, who’s been nothing but boring to me since splitting from The Shield.

EDIT: Boring personality and booking wise, match wise he can go

  • Patrick

typical Vince getting cold shoulder.. not wanting the young guys to main event and defend the titles at Wrestlemania.

    • Stoney

I honestly think it’s all because of Brock Lesnar when it comes to young talent, got pushed to the moon at the young age of 25, winning KOTR, the WWE championship, Royal Rumble, and headlining wrestlemania all within one year, then a year later walking out with one of the worst WM matches in history. And ever since then the young talent have paid the price because Vince doesn’t want another Lesnar situation.

why blame lesnar??? goldberg is beating him so bad he looks like a joke now!!! Creative should be blamed for poor booking of young talent

Hulk Hogan as a face got booed in his final year in WWE, and his first couple of years in WCW. Then turned heel, joined the NWO, led to one of the biggest thing in pro wrestling history and was reinvented.
Rocky Maivia started off as a smiling goody two shoes babyface, fans booed the hell out of him, at one point threw ice at him. Took some time off, came back as a heel and joined the Nation of Domination, started talking in third person, changed his name to the Rock. Over time got so over WWE turned him face, and became a megastar. Nowadays Vince would’ve kept him as Rocky Maivia, would’ve eventually been released and would’ve never made it in WWE or Hollywood for that matter.
John Cena started off as a face, eventually turned heel and started a rapper gimmick, that got insanely over and a year after his heel turn, he turned face, then over time started dropping the rap gimmick and became the modern day hulk hogan he is today. Even though his shtick has gotten stale, was more forced on us during 2009-2017 than over but still.
Roman Reigns has been forced on us since November 2013, and Vince thought he can replicate Cenas success with Roman but unfortunately he can’t. A heel turn is needed to save Romans career but from the looks of it, it’s not gonna happen

Not looking forward to wrestlemania at all. I mean, i was able to stomach taker losing to brock even though i felt it should of been someone else but my god i can’t stand roman reigns, the same way i can’t stand goldberg. these type of characters do not interest me and people out there are for more deserving. Owens vs Jericho and the fatal 4 way womens match(if it happens) are the matches that will be worth watching. Still 50-50 on HHH vs seth and Randy vs Bray/Cena.

Please don’t tell me they’re going to strap Lesnar again – it was a bad decision the last time, it would surely be a worse decision this time. The man has zero – although he is excellent at bouncing up and down with that stupid look on his face. If it wasn’t for Paul Heyman…Lesnar would be somewhere else, making big bucks, for doing nothing!
