US Title Not Defended, Alexander Rusev Update, Backstage Fallout Smackdown

- Dean Ambrose hasn't defended the WWE United States Championship on WWE television since the October 28, 2013 episode of Monday Night Raw. While singles matches for Ambrose on TV have been limited, he's faced CM Punk in non-title bouts and worked WWE Intercontinental Champion Big E Langston last month on Smackdown.

- WWE NXT worker Alexander Rusev is on the road with the main WWE roster again this weekend. For those unfamiliar with Rusev, you can check out his NXT profile at this link.

- The latest episode of Backstage Fallout Smackdown is subtitled "On Fire in Philly" and is online at this link. You can also watch it embedded in the video below:

if WWE does not care about the US title then get rid of it. having Ambrose wear it and not defend it is stupid.

I’ve been saying this all along; the U.S. Title has been nothing but an afterthought in the WWE title picture. Ambrose should be stripped of the title, and it should be discontinued, PERIOD.

I’ve been saying that for the past few months. Ambrose is only the U.S. Champion because he isn’t defending it. Does the WWE not care about that title? If they don’t, then perhaps they should unify the U.S belt with the Intercontinental belt. Big E has already defended his belt more times than Ambrose has, and Ambrose has been a champion a lot longer.

They did create a poll about unifying the IC and the US title.Wonder if this is just WWE’s way of fading it out.

I think the best thing to do is have Dean Ambrose defend against CM Punk. CM Punk doesn’t need the US title to be relevant but having a star like him challenging for it could bring back some importance. And if he did win it, then it’s the equivalent as John Cena winning the World Heavyweight Title.
