Triple H & More Weigh In On New Superstar Entrances

The Miami Herald recently posted an article with quotes from Triple H, Chris Jericho & Adam Rose. Jericho put over Rose's entrance and music while Triple H weighed in on WWE's changing philosophy on entrances:

“In the past, we’d give a guy some music, and he goes to the ring. ‘What are you going to do when you come out? I don’t know. I’ll wave to the crowd and go up in the corner and put my hands up.’ That was just what you did. You just figure it out over time.

“Now, with the beauty of the [WWE] Performance Center [the state-of-the-art all-purpose training ground for WWE hopefuls], we can step back prior to all that stuff and try to get these guys to a place where a lot of those kinks and things are worked out, so we’re not waiting six months to see that this guy now has a pretty cool entrance. It’s coming out the shoot when he first appears on Raw or SmackDown. He’s already got something really cool. Now, how can we make it even cooler. How can we make it more epic and more big main stage, and how can we make that more worthy of Raw or SmackDown. That’s all part of the process.”

Considering just how little of Hulk Hogan’s career was managed (on-screen) by Jimmy Hart, I still find it baffling to see Hart constantly following Hogan around everywhere. Is Hart his legit career manager?

    • Jesse Sherwood

Hart and HH met back in the late 70s/early 80s in Memphis when Hogan, as Terry “The Hulk” Boulder, was running the territory circuit. Hogan and he hit it off really well, and when Hogan was picked up by WWF, he helped Jimmy get in.

U mean of course Hulk’s first time in WWWF , then he left and went to AWA then went back to the WWF

        • Jesse Sherwood

I meant during his AWA stint, as that was when Hart was hitting his best stride with his First Family stable and Hogan was a featured attraction that was rotated through the territories. After that time, HH was picked up by WWF and he used his influence to bring Jimmy Hart into WWF and away from Jerry Jarrett’s CWA promotion.

I already know about their history in that respect. I just wonder if Hart does anything helpful for Hogan or if he just follows him around because they’re BFFs?

        • Jesse Sherwood

Basically, Hart and Hogan are just really good friends, although it wouldn’t surprise me if Jimmy was giving Hogan some financial advice over the last few years since his divorce. Jimmy has always been very savvy in that regard.

I like the new philosophy however, it’s not translating on tv very well because most entrances are cut now. You give guys these great entrances, with beautiful themes and pyro and what not but you cut it off constantly for television. Growing up as a fan my favorite thing about wrestling was the entrances, and it’s because I saw them in full on tv. I feel that maybe future fans aren’t getting the full effect sometimes.
