Mysterio as far as I can tell is the only case where it happened in similar fashion, but then again it was done to get Orton into the match. It cheapens the win, but it had a purpose. On Impact it was done just for the sake of making Hardy’s match with Bully Ray “high stakes” where it didn’t need to be. I guess the Rumble comparison is also not quite accurate as the BFG series was done over the course of 3 months, not 1 match like the Rumble. Putting those 3 months of work on the line for 1 match is what truly bugged me about this scenario.

I actually swore at the tv during noc when cena acting like he couldn’t walk suddenly ran across the ring. I was like come on this isby believable until I read yesterday for the full match he couldn’t walk so maybe its just him. Also as much as I and most adult fans want a heel turn he just can’t. he’s people like the miz and big show do charity work while been heels they don’t do the work cena does and for cena to become a heel he would need to go to a too far extreme that this work wouldn’t be possible. so cena is what he is I guess and honestly(and I don’t like saying it) even with his 5moves of doom he is clearly the best thing in the WWE as far as total sports entertainer.

I can think of two instances in the E similar. Didn’t cena use his title shot a month earlier the last time he won the rumble(kinda the same, it takes away from winning rumble to headline mania) and Ken Kennedy put his MITB on the line and lost it too edge . Also didn’t something happen when misterio won the rumble that made WM a triple threat with Orton. I know there not quite the same as hardy but it has happened in the WWE also.
