WWE’s weekly kayfabe Michael Cole interview with Triple H is now online and focuses on Wednesday night’s “groundbreaking announcement” from the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Nevada.
- Cole opened by asking Hunter if he could give us a hint. Triple H responded in one word – nope.
- Michael framed the significance of the Consumer Electronics Show as the place where the VCR, DVD player and Xbox debuted. Cole asked Hunter if WWE was debuting something. Triple H said CES would be the perfect place for a man like Vince McMahon, who pioneered many things (such as pay-per-view), to go and change the world again.
- Cole pressed for just one hint and Triple H wouldn’t give it. He said Vince, Stephanie, Shawn Michaels and Steve Austin will join him. Hunter looked at Cole and said Cole would be there as well.
- Michael told Hunter to promise him one thing. Triple H promised he wouldn’t “pull a Michael Bay (more on that)” and clam up with nothing to say on stage. He promised the announcement is going to be huge. He said he’s big on surprises (so we’ve heard) and that he wouldn’t let the snake out of the bag, referencing Jake Roberts’ surprise return on this week’s “Old School” episode of Monday Night Raw.
