With LeBron James Unavailable, Shaq Says He's Negotiating Wrestlemania XXVIII Appearance

Former NBA superstar Shaquille O'Neal confirmed in an interview this week on The Abe Kanan Show on Sirius/XM that he is in negotiations with WWE to appear at Wrestlemania XXVIII next year in Miami. O'Neal said the current plan was for him to wrestle Big Show.

WWE wanted to book LeBron James for the show but due to the fact the NBA lockout has ended, he is obviously unavailable as the Heat play in Boston on April 1, 2012.

I immediately thought of him vs. Show. With the possibility of Show turning heel after TLC, being so strong, I feel it can work. Here's an idea: Show and D-Bryan for the world title some time in the future, Shaq appears, refs the match, whatever, interfere, cost Show the match. D-Bryan survives, Show has a new rival. Watch the mainstream media go bonkers. I don't mind Shaq, I felt he was one of the best guest hosts of RAW, and helping the buyrate without sucking? That's fine by me.

The question is whether the fans will remember Shaq shoulderblocking Show out the ring. This was back when Cryme Tyme was together… July 27, 2009 to be exact…and consider that storyline writers (and many fans) have short memories of angles like that. Over two and a half years after this and NOW they get Shaq vs. Show? I'm not a fan of the wrestler vs. celeb concept that shows up at Wrestlemania, but surely it has to look better on paper than Show vs. "Money" Mayweather or most of the other wrestler vs. celeb matches (especially Snooki with Laycool!), especially with Big Show slimming down to his early days with the company and thus only being slightly heavier than Shaq.

On a personal note, I'd rather see Shaq than Lebron, as King James has too much of an ego.

Who? Just kidding, but come on really!

Krim, please stop saying "Big dady V". You're spelling it wrong anyway and it's been old since the second time I saw that stupid comment.

And for those that approve comments here on WNW, just stop approving this, because until you do, it's going to be on every page. It's as bad as those retarded Justin Bieber comments on every music video on YouTube. Just stop.

First Akibono, then Mayweather & now potentially Shaq… Seems like Big Show has become the go-to guy for these celebrity matches at WrestleMania!
