Wrestling News World reader Tom Beard attended Wednesday’s WWE live event in Nottingham, England and sent in the following live report:
The arena was fairly full tonight which was a very pleasant surprise considering what I’d been reading/hearing about the previous dates. Results were…
Prime Time Players beat Hunico and Camacho.
Ryback squashed Justin Gabriel.
The Great Khali beat Heath Slater.
Brie Bella beat AJ Lee in a non title match.
Paul Heyman, Curtis Axel and Ryback all came out to cut a promo, interrupted by CM Punk who in turn convinced Axel and Ryback to leave Heymans side leaving Punk free to attack Heyman with a Kendo stick. During celebrating his “victory” The Wyatt’s came out and attacked punk, Bryan makes the save setting up the tag match, great match, Wyatt gets involved several times but Punk and Bryan prevail and win the match.
After the intermission the first match back was the Usos vs Drew McIntyre and Jinder Mahal, another great match with The Usos picking up the win.
Curtis Axel beat R-Truth with the Intercontinental title on the line despite coming close to losing several times.
Del Rio got heat from the crowd, shouting at the kids and addressing the crowd as “London”, the match was as you’d expect, back and forth before Cena hit the 5 moves of doom and wins for the biggest pop of the night.
All and all a brilliant night and successful event.
